My name is Caleb Stephens, and I am an Intersectional Clinician. The reality of therapy is that it is inaccessible to most, and the majority of therapists gear their therapy around themselves, and not around the needs of the client, nor the layers of identity that exist. I am not a traditional therapist, as I am also an Activist, and the majority of the work that I do is Identity work. This is about meeting you where you're at, and I'm here for it.

A void that allowed black and brown people to be left to find sometimes inadequate ways of dealing with real mental health issues. As you search you will find very few people that look like me that are in profession of mental health. This is unfortunate. Although my caseload is hugely diverse, what comforts my clients is I represent what in my field is lacking...a representative from a disenfranchised group of people helping to build up the individual, repairing relationships and making families whole.

My ideal client is a human person living on the earth. I believe that even though the human experience is subjective and unique, there are ways to connect and heal that transcend the superficial and speak to the core essence of our humanity and our shared experience of being alive. All humans suffer trauma and even though the specific details are unique, the experience of grief and recovery have universal features that are accessible to anyone who seeks them out. I believe that all humans are equal and that everyone deserves to feel heard and seen. I am here to facilitate healing and growth in a non-judgmental and fun environment

As you well know, our past has a direct influence on our present circumstances and view of self. Improving in life may not be easy and will require working through past hurts, disappointments, regrets, flawed views of self, and broken or failed relationships.

I am a middle-aged, punk rock contemplative with the ability to connect with just about anyone. If you are looking for a therapist that provides honesty, a kind ear, and an inexhaustible belief in the human spirit's ability to grow and change, then I may just be the therapist you have been looking for. I believe that all of us are able to awaken our truest and healthiest self. I believe that the path towards our truest and healthiest self is diverse and fluid. DaKie is a Licensed Master Social Worker and has experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults. DaKie utilizes interventions and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). DaKie is currently pursing his Clinical Licensure and Play Therapy Certificate from Heartland Play Therapy Insitute. DaKie received his bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a Psychology minor and his Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Kansas.

Specializing in depression and anxiety, I intend to help people who experience a range of life stressors, anxieties, traumas, behavioral issues, mental illness, and other emotional disturbances/barriers. We will collaborate to create a plan for addressing these issues in a way that helps you get your life back. Not all processes are the same, however, you will not have to journey through these processes alone. We will process the issues you want to work on at a pace that is comfortable for you and feels safe for you.

Years of deep, heavy, or significant trauma? Feeling broken and unfixable? You are the person I want to work with! This trauma causes intrusive thoughts, memories, flashbacks, a short temper, reckless behavior, or a negative emotional state. We will do real work to understand why your behaviors and thoughts are the way they are, and we will find solutions and answers. I do not believe therapy should last years and my sessions reflect this.

I love working with all types of clients from individuals to couples and families as well as children. My passion is to help each one of my clients achieve their goals whatever that may be, such as; improving their relationship with their partner, obtaining a higher sense of self, recovering from abuse, reducing levels of anxiety and depression, improving performance, and many more.

Challenges in life are essential to human growth and development, but sometimes these stressful events in life can become overwhelming. Anxiety, depressed moods, anger, irritability, acting out and even addictive and/or compulsive type behaviors are natural responses once internal coping skills have been exhausted. These symptoms can have devastating effects on relationships, work and many other life domains. However, with the assistance of a skilled therapist, these symptoms can be managed and relief is possible.

I am grateful to have been a part of helping so many individuals, couples, and blending families resolve their issues over the past 35 years. While the experience has honed my therapy skills, each new person or relationship is unique and requires exploring solutions that fit their individual personality.
