I believe in having hope and moving forward to live a fulfilling life. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Emporia State University. I have 17 years experience in the child welfare system with 10 years of that as a therapist in residential, outpatient, and school settings.

The aim is to re-structure your philosophy so that you can function to your fullest potential. There are so many core messages we hold which no longer serve us. Take this time to focus on and leave behind tension, stress and trauma. Find this a safe place to acknowledge loss and cope with change in your life. Connect with others who survive similar problems in new ways. Take the skills you learn and apply them on a daily basis.

You are the bravest human to want to do better for your kids. It IS possible to heal from these wounds. It's just really hard to do by yourself. But you deserve to be the parent you want to be! The focus of my work is helping men and women who are struggling with intimacy disorders and compulsive sexual/relationship behaviors (also known as sex, porn or love addiction) that have had negative impacts on a person's relationships, overall emotional well being, health, family, career and other aspects of life. Struggles with sexuality can involve a great deal of pain, guilt and shame. If this is your experience, finding a professional who can provide a safe and non-judgemental space is crucial. In addition, I work with individuals who experience difficulties creating and maintaining intimate connections in relationships.

As a former teacher, coach, principal (22 years), and K-12 counselor, my career has been entirely focused on youth and parents. Childhood is not as magical as it once was and the challenges can be many. I can provide support directly to youth and through parent training and consultation for assistance in relationships, all facets of school, and developing inner strength. Working professional and receiving training in other counseling areas has led me to competence for all ages in addiction, anxiety-reduction, dealing with depression.

I’m so happy you found me! Most people know me by Izzy, I am an LMSW and play therapist in training. My speciality and background is working with children and families following traumatic events, but I also find joy working with individulas experiencing work related vicarious trauma, teens and adults struggling with body image or self-love, and anyone seeking to understand themselves better or what well-being looks like for you.
