Utilizing an integrative approach I employ a host of different modalities to assist my clients in meeting their goals.
In life everyone has story, a narrative and as a therapist I would like to hear yours. Life can be difficult; we are bombarded with daily stress, which causes anxieties and depression. You may be struggling with career choices, decision making or substance addictions. I want to get to know you and, better yet, understand who you are and the way you might be feeling.

I have had the opportunity of providing counseling to the Lynchburg and surrounding areas since 2017. Through helping individuals from 3 years to 89 years old, I have experience in assisting those as they navigate through the various stages of life. I believe in using a multi-faceted approach to therapy, as each individual is unique and allow the treatment to be client focused and not restricted for better client outcomes. While I am trained in a variety of mental health needs, I have the strongest proficiency in assisting those struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, behavioral issues, and relationship conflicts.

I use an integrative and holistic therapeutic approach, understanding all factors that may play a part in mental and emotional distress.
Hello! My name is Liz Audritsh and I am a Supervisee in Social Work. I applaud you for taking the first step in your mental health and healing journey. Starting therapy can be scary and difficult, but I strive to create a space that is comfortable, safe, and affirming for everyone. I understand that therapy is not “one size fits all” and is a deeply unique experience for everyone. Because of this, I emphasize a collaborative approach that fosters an open line of communication between us.

Being vulnerable is hard, it's uncomfortable and it is entirely human. I view therapy as an opportunity to explore what it means to be fully human, ultimately allowing for increased awareness and acceptance to all the parts that have shaped us. My role as the therapist is to help make this exploration manageable through co-creating an environment that is both safe and judgement free. My approaches are primarily person-centered, strengths-based, and integrative. I believe that each client is unique and take the time to know them individually and holistically.

I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, and I am a first-generation American. I became a counselor because I believe in the power of change and the necessity of healing to create better lives for ourselves. I recently graduated from William & Mary with my M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in marriage, family, and couples counseling. I am a warm, transparent, and insatiably curious counselor. I use a developmental and integrative framework that includes emotionally focused therapy, EMDR, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

This integrative process supports the awakening of our connections to Soul, Safety, and Sensory experiences which leads to wholeness and reframes the stories we tell ourselves.
Kate offers support for the individual through creative psychotherapy, intensive coaching, retreats, and family consulting. She also supports practitioners, teaching them how to blend complex modalities and use an attachment informed, sensory based approach to integrate multi modes of treatment for complex trauma. She builds integrative experiences for treating "our living wholeness", combining sensory motor activities, sound, movement, story-based archetypes, and energetic awareness of spirituality. She invites curiosity around creative solutions and is most often considered "Outside of the Box" as an innovative clinician.

With children, I utilize integrative play therapy, and with all individuals, I incorporate a multicultural lens.
As a resident in counseling, my intention is to meet you right where you are when you enter our shared space. Regardless of what you are carrying, I hope to lighten that load by offering a non-judgmental, listening ear and to assist you in processing. We all encounter hardships in life, and we are not meant to deal with those alone. Although you are the expert of your own journey, it can be helpful to walk alongside a trusted other in that journey.

I have completed extensive training in the treatment of trauma and attachment injuries, including training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and EMDR, allowing me to bring an integrative, mind-body approach to my work that my clients find profoundly helpful.
I offer individual therapy for adults and adolescents, and specialize in working with women and teens dealing with the impact of sexual assault, childhood abuse, or other trauma. Other areas of clinical interest include relationship issues, life transitions, anxiety, and identity questions. I believe therapy is a collaborative process that allows us to be deeply seen and heard, and to see ourselves in new and transformative ways. It can build self-esteem and strengthen our sense of who we are and how we fit into the world. As we understand ourselves more fully, relationships with others become richer and more fulfilling. Therapy can strengthen our ability to adapt and adjust to the changing circumstances of our lives, freeing us up to respond more flexibly to the world around us and to experience a more enlivened way of being. For trauma survivors who experience overwhelming waves of shame and fear, a lurking sense of unease, or confusing physical sensations, therapy can help calm the mind and the nervous system, allowing you to move from reliving the past to feeling grounded, present, and whole in mind and body.

Everyone has a unique story of what makes them who they are - stories filled with different relationships, challenges, accomplishments, excitement, and many other things. And sometimes it can be helpful to have a space to share, question, and navigate the things.

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
