I can help by being a listening ear and I offer specialties in Brainspotting, EMDR, ERP for OCD, Imago Couples Therapy, Career counseling, and Gottman I Couples Counseling, and I love working with anxiety, depression, and the stressors of daily life.
You should never expect to be happy all of the time, it is not realistic. Truthfully, I would never claim to be perfect or from an ideal family, marriage, or community. Things always come up and most of us are not (thankfully) exposed to the darker realities of life until we become adults. However, that is not the case for many. That is where I come in and can help pick up the pieces that our once-trusted loved ones failed us. It is never too late to adopt our own opinions and to choose what we want for our lives without fear of judgment. I hope that through our time together I can help you feel set free.

There are things in life that prevent us from moving forward, some of these things include anger, bitterness, thinking patterns or habits that keep us from change, unresolved pain, and feelings of hopelessness and fear. We often want to let go of these, but struggle to know how, or where to begin. If you are tired of feeling stuck, and desire growth and change, consider reaching out. Working with a counselor does not have to be a last-minute resort. It takes courage to heal and I would love to support you with that process!

I work well with couples and individuals. My personal experience with meditation and mindfulness and extensive training in various modalities is front and center for guiding clients towards a balanced, self regulated and awesome life. I am a trained IMAGO therapist (Harville Hendrix's work). Clients/couples who suffer from anxiety, despair and depression will find my practice not only helpful but enlivening. I consider healing through the lens of a wellness model and not a pathological one. Sometimes it's the greatest struggle that brings about the greatest positive change.

I’m an Advanced Certified Imago Therapist & EDMR trained; I help couples & individuals work to make new, healthy patterns, & break long-standing dysfunctional ones.
I need help with my life, is one of the bravest steps. "I want to change my life.", "I am unhappy". I can help transform your hopes into action. You CAN change your life....if you have the will and desire to do so. Taking good care of your emotional well being is almost as important as your body. Are you motivated to change and grow? Having the right person to help you reach your goals? I practice what I preach. “See me”and “hear me”. “Make it safe”. Often this is the beginning of what is missing in relationships. It's hard to ask for help. Being in a relationship is tricky. I would love to guide you to heal.

I use mindfulness-based, internal family systems, emotion-focused, Imago relationships, and psychedelic integration therapies.
How do we move from merely surviving each day to thriving for the long term? While it is true that most of us are products of our environment, histories, and current circumstances, we need not be forever defined or limited by them. Transforming relationships with family, friends, community, society, and most importantly, ourselves, can help us navigate there. If daily life seems overwhelming, unfulfilling, hopeless, or restrictive, my practice can help you clarify your values and needs, expand your coping skillset, create or deepen your connections, and build a meaningful future for your corner of the world.

In my journey as an Imago-trained couples therapist, I work to help partners develop a deeper understanding and connection with each other.
With over two decades of dedicated practice in clinical social work, I bring a depth of understanding and compassion to my work with adults and couples. My areas of expertise include guiding individuals through the complexities of depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. As a therapist trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I journey with clients through the shadows of past traumas to the light of healing. Throughout this process, we gently unravel and reweave the tapestries of their lives, transforming pain into resilience.

Imago Therapists

How does Imago therapy work?

Imago relationship therapy is a form of couples counseling meant to help partners address conflict, communication problems, and related issues. Imago sessions typically involve couples sitting facing each other and participating in guided conversations. Therapy will also involve exercises such as re-imagining one’s partner as a wounded child; re-romanticizing a relationship through appreciation, surprises, and even gift-giving and restructuring frustrations by transforming complaints into requests. The ultimate goal is to re-envision the relationship as a source of safety and happiness.

What is the Imago method?

A core technique of Imago therapy is the Imago dialogue, in which partners learn to avoid hurtful statements and establish ways to interact based on each having equal space and power. In the dialogue, partners take turns as the “sender,” who shares their thoughts, and the “receiver.” The receiver is asked to “mirror,” or paraphrase, what their partner has said, without response or rebuttal, and then validate their statements, acknowledging understanding even if they do not personally agree with it. Finally, the receiver displays empathy by stating what they imagine the other is feeling, and showing appreciation for it.

How long does Imago therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for Imago therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core techniques of Imago coaching, some couples quickly make progress, but most should expect sessions to extend for months, encompassing at least 12 to 20 sessions, along with extensive “homework” from their therapist.

Does Imago therapy work?

There is limited empirical evidence to support the benefits of Imago therapy, but some smaller studies suggest that it does help couples, at least in the short-term. A 2017 study found that marital satisfaction increased significantly after couples completed 12 sessions of Imago therapy, and remained higher for some time after that, but did not always result in “complete recovery.” Other studies found greater empathy and fewer feelings of relationship burnout in couples after therapy. Some research suggests that Imago therapy can aid individuals as well as couples; people with ADHD in particular may benefit from the development of communication, self-control, and listening skills that form the basis of the technique.
