I work primarily with men and women on issues including, relationships, marriage, divorce, parenting, anxiety, depression, and a variety of addictions. I also specialize in working with teenage boys. I often use sports analogies and lessons to address issues such as self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and school performance. In addition to working with adults and teenagers, I work with couples focusing on conflict resolution, effective communication, parenting and other life transitions.

My ideal client is someone who has the drive to be an active part of their treatment. I love hearing people's stories and have a strong appreciation of the struggles many go through before they decide to go to counseling. I want to understand the world through my client's perspectives in a way that allows me to help them based on their value system. They may struggle with depression or anxiety but they have made the effort to call in and make a change. They are comfortable exploring their values in session to help me understand where their values apply to past decisions making and propel future change they want to achieve.

I am a Board-Certified Psychologist in Couples and Families Therapy in the area. Although my specialty is in couples, I also work with individuals on relationships, depression and anxiety. Besides providing therapy, I supervise and train other therapists to do marriage counseling. I am competent, insightful, empathic and appropriately funny. My goal is to be a "team member" with my clients firstly by helping create an environment where one can be "real".

I earned my BA in Psychology at Robert Morris University and my MA in Counseling Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have experience working with clients from 5 to 40 years old and specialize with those between the ages of 8 to 14 years old along with their families. Since then he has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings as either a clinical therapist or administrator.

Melanie Ochoa is a licensed social worker who has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Melanie is a graduate of Aurora University’s Master of Social Work Program. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based methods such as dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to promote positive personal growth and healthy communication. Melanie has experience treating general mental health and client concerns such as anxiety, depression, domestic violence, family conflict, transition/adjustment concerns, and behavioral management. Melanie is fluent in Spanish.
