and EMDR.
Clients I work with often feel in-between jobs, relationships, cultures, or identities. This “in-between” feeling can show up as depression, anxiety, or difficulties with relationships and indecisiveness. I believe that peace and stability comes from finding comfort in the “in-between” and not forcing yourself out. I offer space for individuals to learn more about themselves and how they show up in the many roles in their lives so they can be more themselves in all parts of their lives. (I meet with virtually with clients residing in California and Illinois).

I incorporate EMDR, Yoga, Meditation and a variety of body based approaches in my clinical work with clients.
I believe healing begins with building a trusting, authentic therapeutic relationship and affirming clients’ unique strengths and life experiences given their cultural background. I utilize Polyvagal Theory as a cornerstone for mind-body techniques to help heal one’s nervous system and past traumas, using ACT, CBT, Inner Child work, and Intersectional Feminist theory.

I use tools that support healing from trauma (EMDR, body awareness, and Mindfulness), creating healthier relationships (Attachment-based therapy), and reducing stress and anxiety (CBT, Mindfulness).
Maybe you've been weighed down by memories you're trying to shake. You want to connect with a partner, but the same negative patterns keep playing out in your romantic relationships. A good night's sleep is rare, the tightness and stress in your shoulders seems constant, but you have trouble pinning down exactly what it's stemming from. And you want things to change, even though you aren't sure exactly where to start with it all. The good news is that you don't have to go through this all alone. I'll walk with you as we make sense of the challenges you're facing and I'm confident that through our time, you'll begin feeling better.

I use an integrative approach to therapy (incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Family Systems, Relational Cultural Theory, and Mindfulness) to decrease these symptoms, while working to process and heal from the anxiety or trauma that is likely at the root of this struggle.
It can sometimes feel as if our thoughts are overtaking us, sending us down a negative or anxious spiral. In these moments, it can be difficult to think clearly, feel connected to our bodies, or even to take a deep breath. We start to panic, realizing that we are spiraling downwards, which often leads to even more panic. This negative or anxious spiral does not just live in our minds, but also impacts our everyday lives--we can experience difficulty sleeping, flashbacks, changed eating habits, or withdrawal from social activities, among other things.

I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Gottman Method (for couples), and motivational interviewing, among other skill sets.
Entering therapy is about developing a collaborative relationship between client and therapist. With that in mind, I make every effort to engage clients by first getting to know them and their needs; for change to occur for clients, they need to believe their therapist is trustworthy, sincere, and compassionate. I am experienced in supporting those navigating identity (gender, race, nationality, etc.), LGBTQIA+-related issues, fetish/kink/leather, polyamory/consensual non-monogamy, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, ADHD, phase-of-life issues, emotion dysregulation, and relationship issues.

Life is challenging and seems to grow more challenging by the day. I offer a warm and non judgmental space to explore the pulls on our lives- parenthood, work, adult parents with personality disorders. I offer both a space to explore feelings as well as solutions to the challenges we face.

Prioritizing mental health, now more than ever, is paramount to leading a healthy and fulfilling life. The personal and systemic traumas we encounter can lead to increased anxiety, isolation, depressive symptoms, and physical ailments. You are not alone! I have vast experience working in integrated health and understanding how stress and trauma impact us physically. I also recognize the secondary trauma that can arise from dealing with the systems meant to help us. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy and am EMDR trained. Creating a non-judgmental, safe, and reliable space is my number one priority.

I utilize evidence-based therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, EMDR and Psychodynamic Therapy to help you understand how and why you think your thoughts and then question the emotions and attitudes that affect your life.
Life is not fair; there is often an imbalance and you may feel overwhelmed, anxious or depressed. You may feel like you just don’t know who you are anymore, that you lack a voice or feel stuck. These emotions can leave someone feeling lost in the world.
