I received both my bachelor's degree and my master's degree from the University of Iowa. I am currently a licensed LMSW who is working toward independent clinical licensure. While my specialties are ADHD and anxiety and panic disorders, I mainly just enjoy connecting with folks who have identified that therapy might be helpful for them. I like building relationships and getting to know people through the therapeutic lens. While I primarily use CBT, ACT, and DBT, I believe that a safe space wherein someone can be vulnerable and authentic is the strongest foundation for healing.

We are a team of highly skilled folks who serve a wide variety of client needs. Our agency specifically focuses on support people who have struggled with trauma or complex trauma needs, including child sexual abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, religious trauma, refugee experiences and survivors of torture. We also support clients who are navigating key identity struggles including transgender and gender diverse clients, racial identity and trauma, grief and loss, and relationship and life transitions. We are experts in multicultural care, and in experiences of anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction and BPD.

In 2016 I started working with parents with young children. Thus began a real passion of mine to support maternal and infant mental health outcomes. I thoroughly enjoy working with teenagers and parents of young children. In my sessions, I encourage and nourish a relaxing and lighthearted atmosphere that both welcomes all and encourages them to speak their truth. I’m a goofball a heart!

Dr. Green is an award winning psychologist and a nationally recognized researcher. She is a former collegiate professor of Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience. Dr. Green treats clients with a variety of presenting concerns including eating disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, trauma, grief, and relationship issues. It can be hard to build confidence in yourself when you're struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, mom/dad guilt, or picking up the pieces after trauma and loss. There’s so much pressure to be perfect, and to do it all with little to no help. Maybe you compare yourself to others – they got pregnant right away, and I didn’t. They make this look so easy… why am I struggling so much? I just want to feel like myself again. Yep, I see you! It's possible to grow through this, not just go through it.

NOTE: Not currently taking clients interested in EMDR. Our minds can hold conflict within that influences conflict with how we move throughout the world. Our experiences impact how we handle conflict. Whether that be from loss, life changes, trauma, anxiety, depression, or ADHD, our responses can change. Self-awareness, self-acceptance, and showing up for ourselves can incite the growth we seek. Someone holding a private, safe space for us to unload and sift through the clutter in our minds provides a gift to ourselves of more room in our life to move away from conflicts and toward where we want to be.

Practicing a holistic approach, I incorporate wellness of mind, body, and spirit into my work, fostering healing at a deeper level. I specialize in healing from narcissistic abuse, relational trauma, codependency, and am a certified trauma specialist.

I believe people need help navigating the detours life presents, and counseling is an important tool to help in the process. I work with adolescents and adults on issues including depression, anxiety, self-harming behaviors, family conflict, and adjustment due to life transitions. I also see clients who feel stuck in life and want to move forward in life. My ideal client is commited to personal growth. I believe we are all fragile creatures, yet capable of resilience. We experience painful thought/feeling states and then we weave stories to explain them. Narrative Therapy has been a natural fit for me: the client defines the goals, we examine the details of self-limiting stories, including family and cultural "scripts." We work to co-create stories about identity that have more space for possibilities and emotional resilience.
