If you’re feeling like you don’t belong, then you’ve nearly found yourself. Our society keeps us fragmented from ourselves. Our days are overfilled but somehow we’re left empty; we’re constantly socializing, yet we feel lonely. We are starving for acceptance and connection, for someone to listen and understand. Maybe you feel out of place and overwhelmed. Maybe you’re standing alone against the insurmountable and need a safe place to rest. Or maybe you can’t find your guiding light and the world feels dark. If you’re having these experiences, I want to be there with you, to connect with you.

Keeping your head above water, let alone thriving while navigating work, relationships, parenting, infertility or postpartum journeys is HARD. We’re often set up for what feels like an impossible task, with a lack of a village to hold the struggle alongside us. There is an old Celtic saying, "It is in the shelter of each other that we live". I work with many parents and those on the journey to parenthood to help form their village and bring some more intentionality, ease, and joy on that journey. I'm enthusiastic about collaborating with you to explore practical coping strategies while also fostering a sense of self-compassion.

I believe therapy plays an integral role in personal growth and healing, and the relationship between client and therapist is an important part of the journey. I have provided therapy to teens and adults throughout the past decade using an individualized and supportive approach. I understand that each person has different strengths, needs, and a unique story. I strive to create an environment that is safe, nonjudgmental, and compassionate. I believe in people’s ability to grow and transform when given access to the support and tools they need.

Your body is always communicating information to you, and your emotions are the messenger. Maybe it's the consistent feeling of overwhelm, or the throws of depression. Maybe you are experiencing physical pain as a result of emotional pain. Whatever it is, I believe in the wisdom of your body and I want to help you become an expert at your own body language so that you can have more autonomy over your life.

There comes a time when we realize we must face what we had hoped to ignore. The things gnawing at our spirit relentlessly until we tend to them. Sounds familiar? Well you don’t have to face them alone. Gently and without judgment, I help people tap into the wisdom they always had to explore where they want to go and who they want to be.

Trauma is not in the event, it's how our bodies are still holding onto the experience now. Grief and stress can manifest in the same way. Many of us are still holding to past experiences, and bracing for a future that hasn't arrived yet. Trauma shows up as constant pattern of constriction, charge, numbness, and pain in our physiology. This impacts our health, wellness, and relationships. The ways we cope is to keep afloat, in hopes it doesn't burst out of us, instead of supporting our bodies to have vitality and enjoy the gift of life. I support individuals ready to have a relationship with their bodies to heal.

I have worked extensively with women with cancer, and people going through divorce, retirement, death of a partner, and most of life's various provocations which cause pain to the soul, all "traumas" in their own right.
I consider it a privilege to work with you to explore aspects of your life experience which have diminished your satisfaction with life or otherwise left you feeling lost or alone.
Challenges around loss, aging, illness, trauma or relationships can feel too frightening to tackle alone. As a seasoned and compassionate psychotherapist, I can help you bear and work with what may feel unbearable.
Together, we will create a protected space that fosters the trust, aliveness and self-expression that are essential to growth and success in love and work, where you can ultimately reclaim your life and joie-de-vivre.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
