Maybe you've been stuck and unable to see your way forward, or feel a burden you can't quite relieve. Often times we can find our way with the support of family or friends. But sometimes we need the help of a certified professional. I view therapy through the lens of self compassion, understanding and collaboration. It is a moving dialogue that shapes our healing. The development of a therapeutic relationship and interventions are individualized because mental health treatment is more than treating symptoms and a diagnosis.

I appreciate each person as part of many systems that influence their life, such as family, friends, career, culture, and sexual identity.
First and foremost, therapy should make you feel cared for. A therapist needs to be insightful and honest with a huge dose of compassion. I always remember that it’s not easy for someone to reach out for help. I have over 17 years experience providing psychotherapy and counseling. I provide therapy for adults with anxiety, depression, self-confidence issues, grief and loss, addiction, intimacy, spiritual growth, and difficult life transitions. In addition to being a psychotherapist, I’m a best-selling author of several books and a published researcher. My approach to therapy is person-centered. I work in collaboration with clients,

I offer individual, dyadic, play therapy or family therapy.
You might be seeking help because you feel stuck in your relationships, with your family or with your child. The stories of our lives are powerful and can shape our reality. You might be holding stories and pain about yourself, your family, the world, or your child, that are interfering with a present focus and ability to face current challenges. Together we can champion your innate healing capacity in a safe, emphatic, and attached, therapeutic relationship. Therapeutic support can help you recover your true sense of self as an individual or a parent, can heal family wounds, and help you find a renewed zest for life.

"Thank you for helping put our family back together"-The Simms.
I take most insurances. Life has shown up, and you might feel depressed, anxious, lonely, or angry. Has your self-esteem plummeted? Are you struggling in your relationships? Do you: Beat yourself up? Use drugs or alcohol to cope with life? Have unresolved grief, trauma, or shame? Has your inner critic taken control of you? Do you believe the lies it tells you? If you answered YES, you've found the right place to transform your life and heal. I provide a safe, caring, and nonjudgmental setting, using evidence-based theories that fit your situation. "Thank you! I am much more hopeful and feel completely different with therapy" -Kim.

As your journey unfolds, I welcome both your pain and your resilience, and hope to be a resource for you and your family.
Relationships can be hard. Partners struggle with communication, conflicting parenting styles, sexual expressions... Life's challenges, hurtful fights, history of trauma or infidelity make it difficult to sustain trust and closeness. How can you create desired connections, and not lose yourself in the process? How can you be true both to self and to your partnership? I invite you to explore these questions together with empathy and curiosity, letting go of habitual judgments, self-deprecation, and shame. I work with individuals, couples, and families. Both traditional and alternative lifestyles are welcome, and no issue is a taboo.

We offer services ranging from trauma work, family therapy, child therapy, Ketamine assisted therapy, and psychedelic integration therapy.
We are a team of humanistic therapists and associates. We offer Holistic Psychotherapy, which means that we focus on trusting and following the guidance of the body, mind and soul towards healing. We believe that your symptoms and inner signals are not something to go to war with, but rather they can be a compass to track where there is emotional pain at its root. We will invite you to become more familiar with your body sensations through mindfulness and help you embody a process of healing and completion.

During challenging times, much that we’ve taken for granted - health, finance, career, dating, dreams - may suddenly feel elusive, precarious even. I'll help you identify, then challenge any "thinking" obstacles, to guide you past what holds you back. I will collaborate with you towards acceptance or management of any real challenges you face, and help you to expand your tools. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapies (IPT) therapies, but also draw from traditional psychodynamic theory (i.e. attachment and early family dynamics) and mindfulness to gently guide you toward your desired change.

Hi, I'm Josh Turov, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I believe that therapy can heal, but I also know that telling a stranger about your deepest pain can be a strange feeling. I value a therapeutic environment based on empathy, respect, and the development of trust. I've seen therapy work, and I feel lucky that I get to be part of that journey for others. I work with adult individuals of any age, with a special focus on young adults age 21-45. I also work with adolescents ages 12 and up. I have experience working with people going through a wide range of experiences, including depression, anxiety, the impacts of trauma.

I often work with young adults to help them manage transitions into independence and adult responsibilities. With adults, I facilitate their work toward relief from symptoms generated by psychological conditions or from traumatic events in their past.

The magic of therapy is in thoughtful conversation; no more, no less. When things seem difficult, it helps to have someone to talk to who can remind you about your sense of meaning and purpose and remind you that you somehow got as far as you did!

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
