As a clinical psychologist, I have over 30 yrs experience helping clients work through life's difficult challenges. I work with parents and children to address developmental and behavioral difficulties and to find solutions to the unique challenges of adolescence. I often work with young adults to help them manage transitions into independence and adult responsibilities. With adults, I facilitate their work toward relief from symptoms generated by psychological conditions or from traumatic events in their past.
Whether I am working with an individual adult, child or family, I always want to understand what are the current supports available to my client which will help them resolve concerns in the most positive and sustainable means possible. This systems, strength-based perspective helps decrease symptoms, improve relationships, and build resiliency.
I try to ensure my clients feel a strong collaboration in our work together. My first appointment is a consultation, for me to learn about a client, and most importantly, for a client to learn about me and my approach to therapy. Because confidence in the therapeutic process is an important component in healing, I want clients to have confidence in my work.
