I am trained in CBT, EMDR and IFS- which are very helpful modalities in treating a myriad of issues and traumas from the big, major, life events to the bruises and abrasions you get just from daily living.
It is common to feel like the wheels have fallen off after life hands you the unexpected. Some people are looking to get back to a former level of functioning and for others that level wasn't good enough. It can be helpful to explore new ways of thinking about your life. You absolutely can heal, restore and transform. Let's work on moving forward.

I use a variety of various interventions, such as EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and multiple other therapies and techniques to meet each client’s individual needs.
"The struggle that you are in today, is developing the strength that you need for tomorrow." Let's face it, life is far from easy, so if you are someone who is struggling with day-to-day living and finding it difficult to overcome the challenges and curveballs that life seems to throw at you, then let's work together to regain the strength that you already have within you. I am a therapist who specializes in working with individuals between the ages of 12-30 that struggle with anxiety, depression, anger management, unresolved past trauma, stress, grief/loss, relationship issues and lack of social and communication skills.

I received training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing ( EMDR) in order to be able to more effectively and efficiently treat such emotional pain.
I am passionate about helping individuals see and value the good in themselves. Oftentimes our minds can fool us into believing that we are not worthy, not enough, or unloveable. These are generalized falsehoods that are usually rooted in trauma. I work to create a safe space for you to begin to confront such negative core beliefs - to stare them down - in order to begin to challenge, dismantle, and replace them with new, positive beliefs.

I understand, it is a big step to reach out for help if you are in pain. While most of us tend to hunker down when feeling overwhelmed and out of control that is actually the best time to seek support. If you suffer from anxiety, depression, relationship issues, addiction, or other challenges I can help. I enjoy most working with clients seeking changes that help them overcome distress, feel good, and reach their goals. Reach out for your free 15 minute consultation to find out how I can assist you and if I am the right therapist for you.

I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing ( EMDR) to help provide quicker relief when possible.
Do you feel like you are struggling to cope with emotional & psychological stress from trauma? Trauma is often believed to include only those events where our lives are directly threatened, but this is not true. Trauma is referred to as any event that leads to significant impact on a person's mental health and wellbeing. Examples of trauma may include abuse, neglect, divorce, loss of a loved one, bullying, assault, car accident, victims of robbery, traumatic birth, witnessing violent acts, and so much more. These psychological scars may keep us from moving forward in life and impact our long term wellbeing.

Using evidence-based practices like EMDR + IFS, I support clients in their journey towards self-discovery and growth.
Is there something that you use, say, think, or do, that you wish you didn't? Have you attended rehab or traditional therapy before, but still feel like you just can't get it right? Do you feel like you "have all the tools," but struggle to integrate them? Do you wish you could just STOP using, saying, thinking, or doing, all of those problematic things? Do you wish you could find the thing that could help? Would you believe me if I told you that the one you have been waiting for is you? Not the one that knows what to do; but, the one that is curious and compassionate. It is possible for you to heal and be your authentic self.

distress can take many forms, depression, excessive use of drugs and alcohol, anxiety or troubled relationships. Usually, we can make the necessary adjustments and carry on with well adjusted lives and careers. Sometimes, try as we might, things will not fall in to place; and that might be time to get some help. I offer EMDR, Hypnosis, Mindfulness and family of origin based therapies, as well as Addiction and relapse management therapies.

I am EMDR, CPT and DBT skills trained, and I use those approaches to treatment in addition to other modalities.
Relationships can be difficult to navigate, both with others and with oneself, and not having the right tools can make a difficult job even more challenging. Add to this day-to-day life events and unprocessed trauma, and it can be easy to feel like things will not get better, leaving you feeling empty and hopeless. I want to be there on your journey by holding the space for you, helping you process your thoughts and feelings, learning who you are and what you need, and supporting you as you learn new skills, strengthen the ones you already have, process your trauma safely, and develop and/or nurture healthy relationships.

As an EMDR therapist with additional training for complex trauma, I specialize in helping clients safely access and reprocesses the core memories and experiences that are often at the root of their issues.
My why as a therapist - to cut through the systemic issues in the mental health system and connect with people on a meaningful level that makes a difference. I do this work to help people heal at a core level. I believe people are capable of far more than just reducing the symptoms of a diagnosis. So I focus on helping you as a person, not a diagnosis. There are so many problems with our approach to mental health care in this country, don't even get me started. I can't solve them all. But what I can do is meet you with compassion, open-mindedness, and hear you out as the individual you are.

I am a Clinical Social Worker who utilizes trauma-informed Psychotherapy and EMDR therapy to help clients experience authentic transformation.
We all just want to feel comfortable in our own skin. We want to live our lives feeling inspired, happy, and purposeful. Somewhere along the way we may have sought out external things to achieve this goal: drugs, alcohol, relationships, jobs, social circles, money, status, etc. These things work for a little while…until they don’t. We finally get to a place where we realize we need help turning inward. We become willing to examine our trauma and core wounds and heal from what is in the way of us emerging into our fullest selves. This is where transformation begins.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
