I assist clients, spanning different age groups including children, adolescents, adults, and families, in cultivating a positive self-perception and fortifying their interpersonal connections, enabling them to perceive themselves as serene, whole, and secure.

I work with individuals struggling with the effects of unresolved trauma, which can look like experiences of anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, as well as challenges in relationships and sex life. My counseling incorporates a mind/ body approach that is based on an understanding of the neurobiology of trauma and that is highly attuned to cultural and societal context so as to promote more possibilities for healing. My aspiration is to support my clients to feel keenly aware of their sense of empowerment, agency, and wholeness in the present moment rather than feeling defenseless against overwhelming emotions and bodily states.

Love Letter to a Future Client: There is so much to be afraid of in this life, ranging from what people think of you to the fate of the human race. And yet, fear is not the answer. Fear tells us to hide, avoid, and submit. Fear tells us to avoid the things that we really want to do or be because we might fail, get hurt, or be rejected. I do not promise to erase fear. Fear is just a part of being human - I am afraid sometimes, too! What I can tell you is that I help people every day to make the choices and take the risks – even in the face of fear – that lead to a life of purpose, meaning, connection, creativity, and joy.

Working with a therapist to understand your major stressors, confront your emotions, discover the potential causes of your anxiety and/or depression, and identify coping mechanisms, can be very beneficial. Stress is a normal part of life, but when it becomes excessive or chronic it can affect both your physical and mental health. You can’t avoid stress, but you can stop it from becoming overwhelming, causing anxiety and/or depression, by practicing stress management strategies and techniques. I would like the opportunity to work with you to uncover your stressors and help you develop strategies to effectively manage them.
