I am currently a candidate for a Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Regis University and an intern at Alpine Lakes Holistic Counseling and Wellness Center in Arvada. My experience includes working with teens, young adults, adults, individuals and groups in inpatient, outpatient, and wilderness-based programs. I have supported individuals on issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, CPTSD, personality disorders, life transitions, relationship issues, trauma, grief, and loss.

Extreme fight or flight, difficulty connecting to people in social situations, irritability, short term memory loss, developing meaningful relationships, and physical signs of trauma are just a few symptoms you may be experiencing. Sara (She/ Her/ Hers) is passionate about working with kids, teens and adults struggling with life’s difficulties, including abuse, homelessness, trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Sara earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver, and her Bachelor’s Degree studying Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Rhode Island. Sara is a client-focused, values, strengths-based and trauma-focused clinician, who helps her clients restore their sense of self, increase their self-esteem, and obtain the goals that they set for themselves.

Welcome! I specialize in working with adult females who are struggling with unresolved trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief. I take a holistic approach to my work with clients and believe the key to health lives in the connection between the mind, body, and soul. Our professional clinicians each have a different area of specialty in addition to their post graduate training in animal assisted psychotherapy. In addition to using this expertise the different animals can be integrated into the therapeutic process depending on the point in therapy, as well as the specific therapeutic goal being worked on at that specific time making the therapy experience work more quickly while engaging clients.

When working with me, my goal is to find creative ways to support you during your journey. I love to explore ways to work through client’s stressors by building resilience.
