A combination of personal life experiences as a LGBTQ member coupled with decades of professional trainings and educational opportunities over the past 20 plus years of working in the mental health and substance abuse fields, I have developed a large and diverse toolbox of treatment strategies and interventions to support you in achieving your desired self-empowered state of being.

I love co-collaborating with curious folx who want to know more about themselves and find better ways to live under systems of oppression. This can look like wanting to know more about your gender/sexuality, traumas/resilience, patterns/histories, systems/power, and desires/dreams. I work well with folx who want to build softer ways of being, explore voice/dignity, create liberatory self-narratives, and hold grief/trauma in new ways. My name is Thorne (they/them) and I am a white, queer, non-binary licensed clinical social worker associate (LCSWA) offering both individuals and couples/relationship therapy in Durham, NC. I am deeply passionate about supporting members of the queer (LGBTQ+) community through mental health care and community education. I also enjoy working alongside adolescents and adults of all ages as they explore identities and values; manage anxiety, depression, and daily stressors; process trauma; navigate life transitions; and work towards their goal of creating a more fulfilling life.

I work with people in transition, who are still discovering themselves even later in life, and who are looking to identify what holds them back. I also offer autism and ADHD assessments for adolescents and adults.

I celebrate all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender presentations, and believe that all relationship models between consenting adults are valid and beautiful.
