My name is Thorne (they/them) and I am a white, queer, non-binary licensed clinical social worker associate (LCSWA) offering both individuals and couples/relationship therapy in Durham, NC. My work is grounded in fierce compassion and a belief that everyone is capable of healing and feeling like they belong. It is my experience that one of the key elements of transformative therapy is our relationship; that we are a good “fit” and that you feel safe to share your joy, anger, grief, and tears. My style is gentle, attentive, playful, and person-centered–drawing from relational, narrative, and attachment-based therapy approaches.
If you’ve experienced bullying, trauma, neglect, interpersonal violence, or emotional abuse, connecting with your authentic self can feel difficult. Hiding parts of yourself might feel familiar or necessary. It is my greatest honor to be with you as you move towards self-acceptance, self-compassion, and emotional safety within yourself and in your life.
I am kink-affirming, sex-positive, committed to anti-racism, celebratory of all queer identities, and work with people of all genders and partners in a variety of relationship structures (including monogamous, ethically non-monogamous, and poly relationships).
