An eclectic approach achieves maximum results for most individuals.
I am a bilingual Child and Family Counselor. My goal as a counselor is to offer clients a safe and warm environment in which they have the opportunity to explore their options for change and growth. My clients then have the chance to develop different perspectives toward the issues that afflicted them. They can discover solutions that feel right for them and regain a sense of hope and trust in themselves.

I use an eclectic approach which means that I am trained in a variety of modalities (CBT, EFT, NLP, EMDR, Gestalt, solution focus and reality therapy.
THE CHOICE... One of my clients said that she wished that choosing a therapist was like finding a new puppy. You get a sense of the breeding, temperament and capability and then you know from a heartfelt connection that you have the right one. Here you must decide from an exhaustive list of similar sounding credentials. So what I want to offer is some background and then hopefully you can have the experience she wished for everyone.

My eclectic approach blends proven strategies from applied sports psychology, counseling and hypnotherapy.
My coaching improves confidence, focus, composure, resiliency, trust, and overall mental toughness. All performers want to perform confidently, control emotions, perform fearlessly, perform best in competition, embrace competition. I start with a comprehensive assessment then I create a custom game plan for our sessions. My clients want to perform at their best - freely - without mind games. My programs help athletes, coaches, youth athlete parents and performers from all disciplines (dance, theater, public speaking).

My experience working in diverse clinical and community settings helped inform my eclectic approaches including using client-centered, relational, strength-based, and positive psychology models.
Does your cup feel empty? Are you surviving and not really thriving? As an artist, art therapist, and counselor these questions are instrumental to my work. I'm most passionate about using vulnerability as a strength to foster a brave therapeutic space that recognizes healing beyond mere coping and symptom reduction. I truly believe in the power of therapy and creative self-expression in helping individuals develop greater self-awareness and meaning-making to meet their holistic needs (mind, body, and spirit). Using an array of expressive arts and traditional therapy tools post-traumatic growth and healing can become more tangible.

Utilizing an eclectic, client centered approach, I can offer a safe place to dig deeper into your concerns and struggles.
Current Immediate Availability. It starts so small. Some frustration here, some outbursts there, avoiding situations that trigger uncomfortable emotions, occasional episodes of sadness or anxiety. Gradually it gets worse. Suddenly you find little joy in life, you don’t recognize yourself in the mirror, and you are spending the days feeling stuck in the intensity of these emotions and thoughts that control your life. Maybe you are watching your child experience these things and are feeling helpless seeing them struggle. It is time for change, time for healing, but you just are not sure how or where to start.

I work with individuals, families, and/or systems who find themselves 'stuck'. I work from an inclusive and eclectic framework which allows me to work from the outside or join, as needed, to move past the 'stuck' points. I recently took steps towards physical gender affirming transition. Those who have known me these 13+ years in the field will find this a step in learning and growing with me; those who have heard my name as a recommendation will also find this a step in learning and growing. To learn is to grow; to grow is to be alive!

Using an eclectic approach to therapy, I treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, eating disorders, sexual abuse, OCD, self-esteem and family conflict, among other issues.
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Ralph Waldo Emerson. Using a holistic approach in therapy we will explore the mind, body and spirit connection. We will learn balance and build resilience through the power of self-discovery, thus improving your quality of life. Negative thought patterns and beliefs will be identified and challenged through DBT, mindfulness, and EMDR. When needed we may create healthy eating habits and a healthy relationship with exercise. Cultivating your spirituality to relieve fear and nurture an attitude of gratitude and abundance is encouraged.

I offer an eclectic style that mixes modalities and acknowledge that one specific therapy doesn't fit every single individual.
Have you survived a traumatic experience and need help processing? Have you or a loved one ever said, "You should just get over it. That was a long time ago". Do you need help with redefining your trauma narrative? Do you feel you will never be the same and can't move from a place of victimhood to survivorship? Are you a military member, first responder, survivor of military sexual assault, or just a survivor? I can help with processing trauma, identify stuck points in your survivor narrative, and help reconstruct maladaptive thoughts and self-blame. As a survivor myself, I understand and want to help empower you.

I do this through an eclectic approach, drawing from Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed Care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy approaches, which provides clients skills to integrate the past, live in the present, and create the future they are striving for.
While there are common challenges encountered in life, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and stress, they often leave us feeling alone; but we are not meant to heal alone! By nurturing an empathetic, client-centered counseling relationship, I strive to create a space that honors the unique stories and lived experiences of each client, couple, and family while supporting clients as they build a toolkit that promotes balance, growth, and improved relationships with self and others.

I am eclectic, but often use Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution-Focused interventions.
Many of the clients I have worked with have struggled with general mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and various other psychiatric problems, as well as addiction issues. A great deal of these problems stem from family or other relationship issues, or transitional issues such as loss of loved ones, loss of job, homelessness, and financial issues. Most recently in my career, I have worked with many elderly clients who have major medical issues, are dealing with end-of-life issues, or who find themselves alone, and needing a positive sounding board to listen to them and help improve their coping mechanisms.

Eclectic Therapists
Many practitioners take an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing upon various aspects of cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic methods to create their own custom-made approach. Such therapists often work with their clients to create a treatment plan that encompasses different techniques to best address the client's particular problems and to appeal to their sensibility.
