I have experience working with anxiety, behavioral management, self-esteem, parenting and anger management.
Hi there, have you been feeling stuck? Just going through the day to day motions? Looking to change some things up? Let’s get started! First step is scheduling your initial appointment. I am here to help you navigate into a better state of mind. A little about me, I live a very active and healthy lifestyle and truly love motivating others. I also am diagnosed with Celiac disease, therefore I am quite the gluten free expert! I enjoy helping others tap into new coping skills. I love animals and have a big fluffy golden retriever. His name is Gus and from time to time crashes in to say hi during sessions.

I best work with people who struggle with ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar d/o, trauma, self-worth issues, substance abuse, numbing behaviors, anger, relationship problems, life transitions, and multicultural issues.
As a therapist I support people who feel stuck in their personal or family lives due to feeling depressed, anxious, hurt, hopeless, or angry. All of these issues can make you feel discouraged and our lives become more difficult to manage. But, don't get discouraged. Very often pain in our lives is a necessary component for change and growth even if it does not look like that at this moment.

In the current world of ongoing and chronic stress, life issues can interfere with anyone's ability to live their life to the fullest. Sometimes these issues are life crises like the death of a loved one, new life phases like parenting and adjusting to a new born, or downsizing when the last child leaves home. Sometimes these issues are related to efforts to manage what feels like overwhelming stress with things like the over use of alcohol, drugs, video games, gambling, eating, anger or other less productive behaviors. Depression, anxiety, sleep issues and worry can all result from the experience of daily life. Counseling can help.

I specialize in marriage counseling, sex addiction, personality disorders, anger management and healing from sexual abuse.
I want my clients to feel connected. To know I can understand and see them. Sitting in my office with me, or meeting online, should be a place where a client feels they can be honest and open without judgement or repercussion. Nobody is perfect and we all have some type of past. We have all made bad choices or have had bad things happen. Some of had horrible and unthinkable things occur to them while others may not have experienced such things. Regardless, this is place to unpack whatever you have been carrying around. Find freedom from the baggage, trauma, stress, anxiety and whatever else may exist. You're worth it to try.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
