My name is Paris Conner, besides being a Registered Nurse practitioner for over 30 years specializing in Women’s Health, Chronic Medical Conditions and Mental Illness, I am also an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and Health Coach. In the 21st century, it is common knowledge that adolescence can be an extremely trying time filled with struggles of self-exploration, changing social norms, budding sexuality, and academic stressors. It can be a shock to learn of a time back before the 20th century where the concept of the teenage years did not exist and youth were expected to act and respond as adults as soon as signs of childhood waned.
