I have over fourteen years of experience working with clients on a range of concerns, these include: Relationship dynamics, communication, ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and life transitions.
As a therapist integrating psychoanalytic frameworks, expressive arts therapy, and yoga, I offer clients a multifaceted approach to healing and self-discovery. By combining insights from psychology with the transformative power of creative expression and the mind-body connection fostered by yoga, I seek to offer clients a pathway to explore their inner worlds, release emotional blocks, and cultivate holistic well-being. Through this integrative approach, clients can gain deeper self-awareness, insight into unconscious patterns, and develop practical tools for managing stress, enhancing resilience, and improving relationships.

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.” -Anatole France. Equine Therapeutic Connections (ETC) deeply believes that you are the answer you’ve been looking for; you just may not know which path to take. Working as a collaborative team of Equine Specialist, Mental Health provider, and horse…we will walk along side you through your pain, not “examining” or “analyzing” what is happening, but rather, being with you. Horses have worked alongside humans for many generations, allowing them to become especially attuned to emotions and nonverbal signals and responding accordingly.

Psychotherapy is a partnership with the goal of exploring who you are, what you want, and what is getting in your way. But how does it work? First, engaging in psychotherapy gives you the rare opportunity for another human being to focus entirely on you which can be healing in itself. And if that person is specifically trained to know what questions to ask and when to challenge and confront and when to support and encourage, then the possibilities for growth are endless.

Are you looking for relief from suffering? This may hold different meanings to different people. For some, it means addressing past traumas to improve current living. For others, it may mean transforming anxiety and depression into manageable states of being, or working through specific parenting challenges that cause concern. For children and adolescents, relief of suffering may come in the form of receiving support and coping skills to deal with life's changes such as divorce, school related stress, or a serious trauma or mental health issue.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
