Healing is a process. It is not something that happens immediately or overnight. Think about how long it took to become wounded. Think about how your body heals from an illness or injury. It is a process of healing, and depending on the complexity of the issue or issues, depends on how long the healing process will take. The same way are bodies are designed for healing, emotionally and mentally we are designed for healing as well. We can support the healing process by resting, taking care of ourselves, and being patient. Healing is not necessarily an easy process but well worth the effort. And you are not alone.

In the face of difficulties, pain, changes, and mental health issues, it is my firm belief that all of us need to be heard in order to heal. Being heard allows us to gain wider perspective, to be safe enough to feel our hard feelings, and to be open to learning new ways to meet our challenges head on and come through as the person we want to be. My goal as a therapist is to really hear you without agenda, and offer that care and support that you need. To help achieve that I use narrative, internal family systems (IFS), DBT, and trauma-informed therapies.

I get excited about working with my clients - getting to know you is the BEST part of what I do. And I totally understand what a leap of courage it can be to go to therapy. I'd love to hear what you have already tried, why it hasn't worked (or if it has, too), and what seems to be blocking your path. These are very helpful clues in our path of discovery. From there, I have a tool bag we can draw from, and with your feedback, we'll find something that works. :) Your feedback is the key!

Anxiety, depression, perfectionism, assertiveness, divorce, remarriage, and grief, are all things I have experienced personally. I want to help you as well! Let's work together! Our counseling center specializes in the most effective form of couple therapy and helps people struggling with, and in, relationships or who are working on individual recovery. It’s very exciting to me to be able to help people in their most important relationships. Our mental health is so important for our quality of life. Talking to someone with tools to help can slow things down so you can be there for the people who depend on you. Let's enjoy life!

I believe therapy isn’t a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to navigating life's challenges. Each person has their own unique strengths and struggles, which is why I aim to tailor my methods to suit your individual needs. Together, we can work through the challenges you're facing and explore meaningful changes that will help you reach your full potential.

With a background in sport and human performance psychology, I support clients facing pressure in competitive, public, or high-stakes environments. But even outside of those spaces, I believe in helping people reconnect with their sense of purpose, worth, and direction especially when they feel lost in self-doubt. You don’t have to be an athlete or a high performer to feel pressure. Maybe you’re trying to do it all, keep up with responsibilities, meet expectations, and still somehow feel okay. But under the surface, you might feel overwhelmed, or like you’ve lost sight of who you are outside of your achievements.

Life tends to have a way of throwing us a few more curve balls than we’d like. I love helping clients gain the tools and understanding they need to make navigating through this crazy life less overwhelming. Sometimes when life's too much our brains try to help us out by sending danger signals. These signals can come in many different forms, including physical pain, anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, and much more. Unfortunately, even though these danger signals are just doing the best they can, they tend to make things even harder.

My greatest passions are people, nature, life itself, and music. I come to the counseling room with the background of having been a board-certified music therapist for 20+ years. Through life, I’ve discovered my passion for understanding others and how they navigate through life’s adventures. I understand the vulnerability it takes to be willing to sit with oneself in hard times, and more importantly, with a stranger to talk about difficult things, and I honor that process with each person I meet. I believe life is about living and finding joy. Some of my greatest learning experiences have come through life and introspection.

I specialize in trauma, domestic abuse and addiction. I also help clients that struggle with depression, anxiety, relational issues and interpersonal struggles. I use a comprehensive, integrative approach to healing (EMDR) as well as CBT, DBT and Mindful practices.EMDR is a systematic process of healing that promotes emotional stability by helping to free the mind from past thoughts, memories and behaviors that are present in daily life. The mindful approach to emotional healing works through conscious change in perspective. Being consciously aware of unconscious thoughts helps in the process of change. This mindful practice changes how you view yourself and the world
