I approach my clients from where they are coming from and what their needs are. While my specialty is trauma, depression, and anxiety, I hold a safe space for any needs. Together we will work to integrate what brings you into therapy. I believe diversity is a strength. Being Latina has helped me see this first hand. I use a multicultural point of view with an intercultural understanding. My pronouns are she/her, I am cishet, and I believe in respect for all people.

No two humans are the same. We each have struggles and successes that no one else can completely understand. I strive to make every client I meet feel comfortable enough to explore their unique experience and to walk out of my office feeling heard and valued. I aim to offer support and guidance, empowering you to make the changes you want for yourself. I can't take away your past or guarantee there won't be any dark days in your future, but I can help you to let go of the pain connected to your trauma, be it big or small, and build skills to prepare for the challenges of tomorrow.

By their nature, addiction and mental health issues can be so isolating. The reality though, is that you are not alone. I would love to come alongside and help you in your healing process.

The mission of my practice is to work with women who are going through transition in their lives (ex. relationships, aging parents, grief, career changes, empty nesting, hormonal changes, substance use recovery, loving someone with addiction) helping them to understand the significance of each experience. My clients learn how to address the related issues and stressors, make appropriate decisions, and, ultimately, develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for themselves. My approach is to combine compassion, empathy, directness and sometimes humor, in order to help them gain insight, and find JOY in the journey.

I believe that we all do what we know based on what we have learned, beliefs we have adopted, and/or experiences we have been through. It is my belief that once we become aware of the patterns we have created in our lives, we can then consciously decide to change situations that we are not satisfied with. In order to heal I believe it is important to empower individuals to tell their stories while feeling every emotion without judgment.

You are not alone, sister... Though you do your best to get up, get dressed (yoga pants count, ladies!) and smile while you uphold all your roles/responsibilities, you are actually living an anxious, panicked, stressed, overwhelmed and depressed life (or your daughter is). Your best version of YOU is locked away - longing. While you hope one day you'll just feel better, in the meantime you find yourself in the same place: struggling, anxious, frustrated, exhausted, detached, fearful, isolated, unsettled, desperate. I don't want you to settle for living this way any longer; there is hope and this does not have to be your "normal."

Do you find yourself unable to get a thought or feeling out of your head? Even when you do everything to gain peace and calm, it never lasts and you find yourself needing to seek reassurance or check again that everything is all right. Anxiety comes in many forms, and sometimes it feels like you spend so much time in your head, that your life and relationships suffer. The uncertainty of the future can leave you exhausted from trying to prevent all the potential catastrophes. Perhaps you suffer from regrets and replaying scenes from your past. The good news is that there are effective treatments for this type of persistent anxiety.

I am accepting new clients. Sometimes life can bring us through difficult seasons. It is helpful when we know that we are not going through these times alone. I have to be honest, I don’t like writing these “therapist bios” because it is so difficult to accurately describe the therapeutic process and it often sounds cheesy but here goes my best attempt. I have over 10 years of experience providing individual counseling services to college students, young adults and members of the LGBTQ+ communities including specialized training in providing services for a variety of concerns including trauma and addiction. My approach is flexible, person centered and I am adaptable to the needs of each individual I work with.

I provide caring and professional counseling services to adults, children, couples, and families using individual or group therapy. I believe that each person should be treated with the utmost respect.

My expertise is working with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship, change of life, or traumatic issues. Helping a client to gain depth of insight, learn to utilize and trust their own resources, and helping to bring a client to wholeness and healing is my professional passion. My training as a yoga teacher brings a mindfulness based approach to my work.

Then you spend the rest of the appointment trying to convince them that you are actually ill. It's like you're put in a position where you have to justify having made the appointment in the first place. I believe therapy should be the exact opposite of this. Therapy should make people feel validated, feel heard. You deserve a place to feel understood, and I would be honored to provide this to you.

I am well-acquainted with themes such as death, trauma, bereavement, terminal illness, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and combat. I love working with people who intuitively know something is misaligned and are willing to entrust.
