Being functional (going to work, doing your day to day habits, presenting as if everything is going well, etc) is not the same as genuinely being well. When you are at a place where everything seems fine on the outside, but you don't feel fine on the inside, it's time to figure out why. Together we can begin to better understand your thoughts and feelings, gaining clarity on what fuels your behavior and triggers certain habits. Change is possible and you are capable of achieving it. Throughout our therapy, together, you and I will look at the different aspects of your personality, how you were raised, and the messages you received from you parent(s), and how you functioned in the family system. In addition, both of us will work on counseling goals, which will govern the direction of your counseling process.

What drew me to the counseling field was my passion to advocate for people who have experience trauma (relational, spiritual, physical, sexual, emotional, and more). I take an integrative approach, meeting you wherever you are in the process and tailoring treatment based on my extensive training in trauma modalities. During this pandemic/quarantine, so many people have been affected by loss and grief. My main focus lately has been helping people who are grieving loss. Grief is often a lonely journey, and those who are not grieving wonder why you aren't "over it" yet. People grieve in many ways and heal on their own timetable. I help clients in their grief journey in a way that makes sense to them without judgment or trying to rush them along.
