I believe that all human beings have infinite worth and the ability to grow and change. Utilizing my multicultural background, experiences as a woman of color, and a first-generation immigrant from India, influences my approach to counseling. My focus is on establishing and nurturing client-centered, one-to-one relationships. I aim to help you build awareness by engaging in creative problem-solving, formulating your coping strategies, and focusing on your strength and resiliency.

Life can sometimes be challenging and painful. There are times when you need someone to talk to that’s objective, an outside source that’s compassionate and will not only listen but understand and “get it”.

I am a compassionate trauma-informed therapist that primarily works with individuals struggling with trauma/PTSD, ADHD, neurodivergent issues, relationship issues, chronic pain, physical disability, partner violence, substance abuse, anxiety, stress, depression, cultural identity, cultural/intergenerational conflicts, family conflicts, and other issues. As a daughter of South Asian immigrants, I have always been interested in working with traditionally overlooked communities. I have worked with individuals with dual diagnosis, domestic violence survivors, veterans, and LGBTQIA individuals.

Relationships can be difficult. Whether it is familial, romantic or platonic, each of us is the sum of all the experiences, communities, and cultures we have been involved in and around our entire lives. We often struggle to understand how to effectively communicate, as well as making and keeping connections.

As a Pakistani-American Muslim woman, I recognize that there is a significant need for counseling services within diverse communities. I'm especially passionate about working with individuals as they navigate major life transitions, such as going college, entering workforce, moving, marriage, parenthood, and so on. I also enjoy working with clients who experience grief and loss. I've worked with clients from various backgrounds and clinical presentations, focusing on addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, family issues, stressors, identity, etc.

I believe that we humans heal in the context of relationship and that therapy is the process in which we find our way to our whole selves. In the therapy room, I join with clients to co-create their unique path to wholeness by realizing their inherent strengths and utilizing them to developing a 'tool belt' of strategies for which to work through life's struggles. Together we orient to the client's inherent capacity to gain mastery of their own functioning from the lens of their truth.

Greetings! I am a passionate Master's level clinical mental health counseling student at Northwestern University, dedicated to fostering positive change and resilience in individuals. My therapeutic approach is rooted in an integrative framework, with a strong foundation in psychodynamic theory. I am committed to creating a tailored experience that meets the unique needs of each client.

I have provided individual, couples, and family therapy to adults and adolescents for over 18 years. I have experience working with individuals and families from varied ethnic/cultural/sexual orientation backgrounds. My therapeutic orientation includes cognitive behavioral, strengths-based and person-centered approaches. I am a strong believer in "one size does not fit all" and adapt my approach based on client's needs and belief systems. I am supportive but can be directive when the clinical need arises. Currently, I only see clients on Wednesdays. I conduct therapy in Spanish as well.

My approach is to focus on the entire person, mind, body, and spirit. This involves taking a holistic view of the client and integrating healing practices for all facets of your being. My first goal is to get to know you and co-create a healing plan for you. I will partner with you to find what works best for you.

The Midwest Asian Health Association's Community Mental Health Clinic (CMHC) was established in 2015 with the vision to provide linguistically appropriate, culturally sensitive, and financially affordable mental health services to underserved Asian American & Pacific Islander, Asian immigrants, and other low-income minority populations in the Midwest. The counselors and staff at the CMHC are dedicated to creating community in which all people, regardless of language or ability to pay, will be able to access mental health services to improve their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

I strive to provide excellent care catered toward an individual's specific needs by leading with a compassionate, flexible, and goal-oriented approach. I have received specialized clinical training in the areas of: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), relational approaches, and trauma-informed frameworks. Through my work at Northwestern's Family Institute, Eating Recovery Center, and multiple private practice settings, my consistent aim has been to advocate for the well-being of my clients.

Teens and young adults are struggling with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, neurodiversity, identity issues, low self-esteem, stress, and advocating for themselves. As a queer, biracial human, I appreciate and celebrate the identities of my clients and acknowledge that they are the experts in their lives and I'm honored to be a part of their journey.

I enjoy working primarily with individuals who have a history of interpersonal violence. I especially feel honored to journey with those navigating their relationships as they work through their trauma history. I recognize how one's racial, cultural, and faith background impact recovery and welcome integrating these components in therapy. I also take time to explore how childhood experiences shape the individual and current relationships. My hope is that, through our time together, you will gain greater insight into yourself, which will contribute to your flourishing and the flourishing of your relationships.

Life is constantly changing and sometimes challenges arise as a result of this change. This often leads to experiencing feelings and thoughts that add further distress to us. As a therapist I aim to collaborate with you to create a trusting relationship to understand, explore, and better deal with these challenges. I invest in getting to know you and your experiences, understating you within your cultural context, and supporting you in reaching your potentials.

My specialty is in working with the effects of unresolved trauma, including anxiety and depression. I incorporate a mind/body treatment approach combining somatic psychotherapy, yoga, and mindfulness all based on an understanding of the neurobiology of trauma. My hope is that I can help each person who chooses to work with me to feel empowered to become the conductor of their own journey rather than being at the mercy of past or present life circumstances.
