I believe meaningful connection changes people — this is what the therapeutic process is about. I am passionate about encouraging growth and restoration for those questioning their purpose or identity and searching for meaning. I works with those facing grief and loss, generational trauma, racial identity, emotional neglect, parenting questions, religious trauma, anxiety, attachment, mid-life evaluation, personal identity development, and more. Unresolved pain from past trauma can feel like you're on a treadmill, relentless and unforgiving, forcing you to keep running, no matter how exhausted you are.

Counseling can have life long impacts on a person’s quality of life, self-worth and relationships. When we explore our thoughts, emotions, and actions from a curious and compassionate stance, we develop self-reliance and new opportunities to relate to others and ourselves. I approach therapy as a collaborative process. I am committed to helping you set goals and celebrating with you as you make progress.

I believe the role of a counselor is to help you integrate your experiences— both joy-filled and painful, expected and unforeseen— into an understanding of yourself as someone worthy of love and capable of meaningful impact in your world. Whatever you are experiencing, I hope to help you see and relate to yourself from a place of acceptance and genuine care, believing that these two things lay the groundwork for true and lasting change. I particularly enjoy working with those who would describe themselves as caretakers, perfectionists, people-pleasers, or compulsive "do-ers."

Does it ever feel like you just can’t deal with life, or have the ability to shake it off like you used to? Or maybe you’ve mastered healthy coping skills but still easily triggered and feel like you’re not really healing from traumatic past events or inner child wounds. As a counselor, holistic life coach, and cancer survivor, I believe prioritizing yourself is essential, and strive to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative space for growth, where your emotions are seen as real and valid, and where you never need to apologize for how you feel.

Your anxiety, depression or trauma is making life more and more difficult. You are struggling to sleep, relax or enjoy the things you used to. Daily stressors and demands feel overwhelming; you're burnout and exhausted. You feel stuck in a vicious cycle of overthinking, perfectionism and comparing yourself to others. No matter how hard you try nothing ever feels good enough. You feel lost and alone. You often worry that you are a burden or that other’s won’t understand so you keep all the pain inside and try to manage it on your own. You are tired of waking up each day hoping it will be better and are ready for real, lasting change.

We all have areas of our lives where we feel stuck. We can’t seem to figure out what’s going on inside us or in our situations. Even if we see a problem, we might not know how to navigate it. Counseling is an experience that helps you safely explore these places to make sense of your experience and find more clarity for the experiences to come. Together, we sift through the combination of thoughts, emotions, experiences, and patterns that make up who we are to find deeper understanding, clarity, and peace.

One of the most difficult challenges we face as parents is watching your child struggle and not knowing how to help. Parents look for a therapist to help their child overcome trauma, aggression, impulsive behaviors, anxiety, and low self esteem. Developing a strong therapeutic relationship provides the safety and connection that is key for therapy to be helpful. It is the foundation from which to explore and understand your feelings and experiences. I am active and collaborative in listening, inquiring, and guiding your child and family. I want to help you and your family overcome the challenges and struggles that life brings.

Ever feel like the princess-and-the-pea: so acutely aware of something to the point of distraction and pain, but unable to get relief? And on top of that, no one else seems to get it? Or maybe you’re like Goldilocks: trying to find your “just right” of whatever it is you’re seeking, but your problem-solving keeps coming up short? Perhaps you believe fairytale analogies are irrelevant and are thinking, I just want help, literally. If any of this resonates, let’s talk.

Identifying and setting boundaries within ourselves or with others can be challenging, but can also be rewarding. Past events and experiences often impact our ability to stand up for ourselves. Learning how to navigate this is an important part of the therapy process. Some things hold us back from where we want to be. Some things push us forward. We can easily be controlled by unprocessed events or trauma. However, healing is possible and allows us to move forward without letting past experiences negatively impact our lives. Together, we can work on removing these barriers that prevent you from becoming your best self.

Why Play Therapy? This is a frequently asked question. I believe that through play, children express themselves in their own developmentally appropriate way. Through play and other expressive therapies, children can resolve problems, cope with difficult emotions, improve cognitive development and help resolve inner conflicts.
Although I work mainly with children, my education and training also allow me the opportunity to work with adults on certain issues.

You've been holding it all together for so long, you've forgotten what it feels like to not carry the weight.
Maybe you're the eldest daughter who became the family's go-to person before you even had a choice. The caretaker who can't say no, even when you're running on empty. You take it all on because that's what you do, but it's exhausting.
And if you're navigating motherhood, whether you're trying to conceive, pregnant, postpartum, or grieving a loss, you know how isolating that transition can feel. Everyone expects you to be glowing and grateful, but what you're actually feeling is so much more complicated than that.

“Well, this isn’t how I thought life would be! What did I do so badly to end up here?” I used to think if I played it safe or followed the rules, the outcomes of life were guaranteed. This is not always so. Often, when we are stuck, floundering, or even failing, we approach ourselves with criticism and shame to address problems. Then we feel worse, and many times, hide our inner selves from others. I welcome anyone who wants to be curious about themself, take risks to divulge vulnerable thoughts and emotions, and dare to strive for healing. I see mostly women, ages 15 and up, plus a few men who want to dig deep.

For me, the therapeutic relationship is everything. It’s where trust and safety begin. When that connection feels genuine and supportive, it creates a gentle space to slow down, reflect, and notice old patterns shaping the present. From there, healing and growth can take root. I primarily work with adults facing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship struggles. My insight-focused, relational approach helps build practical coping skills while exploring how early experiences influence current patterns. I also pay close attention to somatic and nervous system signals, which often carry what words can’t express.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
