I have worked with an array of people and problems in my 24 years of working as a mental health professional. My counseling approach is eclectic and individualized to meet each client's needs because although we are all connected we certainly are all not alike. I am always supportive but I also believe in challenging my clients when appropriate. In the past, I have specialized in working with adults with dual diagnoses, families and couples, exceptional students in the public school setting, and even forensic treatment.

Before venturing into private practice, I gathered years of experience in both outpatient counseling settings and secure in-patient units. Children and adult women are my primary areas of specialization, but I enjoy working with a diverse client population. I currently provide individual counseling for both children and adults targeting a wide variety of needs. LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC ally.

I enjoy helping adults navigate a variety of needs in mental health, including healing from abuse, managing stressors, moving through grief, changing patterns of relating that aren't fulfilling anymore, and finding ways to better communicate and set boundaries. I am passionate about working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, and I have a special interest in working with those navigating Bisexuality/Pansexuality/Spaces that are Non-Binary in nature and working with those navigating consensually Non-Monogamous/Polyamorous relationships. I received a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Georgia. I completed an Internship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. I was an Outpatient Psychologist at the Lakeview Center. I developed a multi-modal Drug Abuse Program and was Director for several years. I entered private practice in 1974 with continuous service to the Pensacola Community. I provide therapy for children, adolescents and adults in either individual or family sessions, as well as marital/relationship therapy.

My goals in practicing psychology are to help you narrow your focus, set strong goals, and deal more practically with life’s barriers. This can be an intimidating process, which is why I use humor - with a dash of hope - as essential tools. I am skilled in individual and family interventions, executive and consultative coaching, and therapeutic strategies including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapies. My experience in medical and rehabilitation settings, including private and veterans hospitals, helped me hone these skills for work with clients from all walks of life.
