I am a board certified psychiatrist. I am also a psychoanalyst trained at the William Alanson White Institute. I specialize in psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy, which means we can work on looking at the underlying issues, that you may be unconscious of, that cause problems in daily living and contribute to unhappiness and lack of fulfillment. I am also a medical doctor so can evaluate you for the use of medications if needed. It is beneficial to have this combined treatment with just one provider. Dr. Ben is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Medical Education at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine and is double board certified in General Psychiatry & Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Ben received his MD from Cornell University, his BA from Williams College, and completed his residency in general psychiatry and fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Mount Sinai Hospital. He has served as Chief Resident of the Department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai and has been featured on NBC's Today show.

I am a therapist and physician experienced in helping people of all ages experiencing depression, anxiety, learning difficulties, medical illnesses and other challenges. I am a Columbia University trained psychiatrist and former chief resident of the Columbia Adult Psychiatry Residency Program. I provide psychotherapy and medication management for a range of life events and difficulties including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, panic, bipolar disorder, OCD, and substance use problems. She is currently an attending physician at Long Island Jewish Medical Center & Cohen Children’s Medical Center, specializing in Emergency Adult & Pediatric Psychiatry. In addition to her expertise in adult psychiatry, Dr. Chikvashvili is one of the few doctors with experience in treating children of all ages.

Dr. Thompson utilizes an evidenced-based holistic approach balancing psychotherapy with a conservative and efficient medication management approach. Because every patient is unique, treatment is individualized and patient centered.
