Dr. Ricardo Cáceda’s treatment philosophy is to take advantage of the most effective treatments available to go beyond symptom reduction, aiming to help individual patients to recover their level of function and to have a fulfilling personal, familial and work life. His extensive experience in biological psychiatry provides him with a strong background on biological treatments, which he combines with a solid psychotherapy approach to provide an integral and individualized treatment for his patients. The combination of psychotherapy approaches allows for long lasting changes in factors predisposing to depression and anxiety.
Dr. Cáceda is a board-certified psychiatrist. He has specialized in biological research and treatment of mood disorders. He served as Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Stony Brook University, and is a strong believer that the best treatment responses are obtained with an integral approach combining medications, psychotherapy and a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Cáceda does psychiatric evaluations, consultations, psychopharmacological (medication) management, and psychotherapy. His areas of expertise include mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and adjustment disorders. After an initial evaluation he will generate a comprehensive plan tailored for each patient that can include medication, therapy or both.
