I then decided to continue my education and received my first degree in Nursing, so that I could continue to help people within the greater Northern Arizona community. My experience assisting individuals with their mental health concerns led me to continue with my graduate studies at Frontier Nursing University and receive a Master’s Degree as a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I completed my doctoral education in 2021 culminating in a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. I have also obtained Master’s and Bachelor’s level degrees in psychology/forensic psychology and have worked previously as a counselor. As a PMHNP, I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, virtual telemedicine, corrections, IOP, ACT, long term care, and administration.

Dr. Williams is a certified integrative mental health provider and nationally board-certified psychiatric mental health practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. While educated and board certified to treat individuals from ages six through the lifespan, Dr. Williams's interests include a holistic approach as a clinician. She believes the most important aspect of care is listening to the client's unique story. Although medication management is a large part of her role, she uses a holistic approach to treating clients and incorporates various treatment modalities. Medicine is only prescribed when necessary.

I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner and currently in my 40th year of practice. I have a Master's Degree in Mental Health Nursing and am a member of the Nurse's Honor Society. I love what I do and take a genuine interest in my clients. It is very fulfilling to watch people get better and attain their highest level of functioning. I use a collaborative approach with my clients and strive for excellence. Although I am trained in therapy and always do some counseling when I see patients, my specialty areas are diagnosis and medication management. I am board certified in psychiatry by the ANCC.
