Dr. Eaglin is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry. He completed medical school at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, and residency training through the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Dr. Eaglin evaluates and treats children and adults, using evidence based methods. He provides medication management and psychotherapy services, focusing on improving psychiatric health and well-being. Dr Eaglin believes in using medications responsibly and only as necessary. Far too often patients are improperly diagnosed and prescribed excessive amounts of medication.

Studying and practicing in South Florida, I have had the privilege or working with clients of all ages, walks of life, and diverse cultural backgrounds. In residency, fellowship, and continued study, I have been able to treat a wide variety of concerns using evidence-based medication management and therapy: including depression, anxiety, mania, psychosis, ADHD, OCD, suicidality, issues of grief, situational stress, and also goals for personal growth, relationships and development. I am board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, with training and experience treating patients with psychiatric disorders across the lifespan and across practice settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics. I have over 11 years of experience in the mental health setting. My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Florida State University, a Masters of Science in Nursing, psychiatric nurse practitioner specialization, from The University of South Alabama, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from The University of South Alabama.

Our mind and body are connected and when either one is out of balance, the other one can be impacted. We will explore what is contributing to the symptoms that are impacting your ability to function optimally. This may include adjusting physical activity, sleep hygiene, dietary choices, vitamins, and practicing mindfulness. If the symptoms are overwhelming, we can also explore medications as an option. My goal is to help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, ADHD, etc. through an individualized treatment plan.

I am a dually certified nurse practitioner in pediatrics and psychiatry. In my practice I use a holistic approach with the understanding that each person has different needs. Although medication may be one component of treatment, I also provide guidance on nutrition, exercise, relaxation, and positive life choices. I am a board certified psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APRN) trained to diagnose and prescribe medication for patients with mental health issues. Prior to becoming a Psychiatric APRN I was an Emergency Department RN, working in local ERs for 30+years. I have worked for Bardmoor ER & Morton Plant psychiatric ER & inpatient pediatric psychiatric unit, St. Petersburg General ER, & Northside Hospital & Heart Institute ER. I also have experience working with Veterans and worked at Bay Pines VA ER & inpatient psychiatric unit for 5 yrs. I am currently a Sexual Assault Examiner with The Suncoast Center S.A.V.E team.

Born and raised in Cuba, Dr. Carmona received his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in GI & Family Medicine at the Havana Medical School, and practiced as a physician from 2002 to 2009. In 2007, Dr. Carmona moved to the Republic of Namibia in Southern Africa, where for two years he provided critical medical services to roughly twenty-five thousand people living in rural villages and isolated areas.
