I specialize in trauma/PTSD, childbirth trauma, perinatal disorders, and couples counseling using a wide range of evidence-based modalities, including traditional "talk therapy," and neuro-based approaches such as EMDR. Trauma, such as childhood abuse, sexual violence, domestic violence, etc., can create chaos in many areas of your life, including relationships, parenting, work/school performance, and even your physical health. My goal is to provide a warm and compassionate space where we can explore not just the trauma itself, but also how it intersects with other issues and patterns in your life.
Before becoming a therapist, I was a birth professional for 10+ years, giving me extensive insight into the challenges of pregnancy, birth, new parenthood, and relationship changes in the childbearing year. One of my deepest passions is childbirth trauma, and prenatal/postpartum issues such as postpartum depression, miscarriage/stillbirth, and infertility.
I also enjoy working with couples struggling with communication and trust issues, infidelity, life transitions, parenting/co-parenting, navigating a separation or divorce, or exploring reconciliation. I am attuned to the ways one/both partner's mental health concerns affect the relationship dynamic, and the needs of partners trying to support their partner.
