In your relationship do you experience a feeling that your arguments seem to be around the same issues?
Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the stresses in life? Feel unable to make decisions? Do you condemn yourself for making the 'wrong' decision? We can be good at condemning ourselves and be our worst critic. Discovering what patterns are happening for us over and over again, and preparing yourself for these, knowing what you can and can't do, can feel empowering. Being able to express yourself knowing that you can be heard without fear, embarrassment or shame but with acceptance of you as a person can be life changing. I can help you look at making changes and find bespoke ways to support and establish a way forward for you.

You might be seeking individual counselling (17+), or relationship counselling ( partners, couples and families).
Therapy works best when you feel safe enough to open up. That safety comes from our relationship which is based on non-judgemental understanding and mutual trust. In relationship therapy I work for the relationship itself. I take an open, transparent approach, don’t take sides, and ensure everyone has equal time and space to express themselves.

As a qualified psychologist who offers a holistic, integrative approach to therapy that acknowledges the interconnectedness of mental, emotional, physical, social, and cultural influences on well-being, my work is grounded in Western and non-western psychological theories, allowing me to tailor therapy to each client’s unique background, needs, and worldview. Most of my clients seek therapy because they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from others. I am passionate about creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, have clarity in their thoughts and emotions.

Hello! I love therapy, sitting in either chair. As a therapist, I get to provide support and a kind, empathetic ear; I get to witness hard work, growth and passion from those taking their wellbeing into their hands, and I get to be myself. As a client, I've learned many things about myself, I've learned how to communicate, and overcome my own fears; it is these experiences that lead me to becoming a counsellor.

I work with clients who may be struggling with depression anxiety trauma related to their relationships or family.
I often use Psychodynamic psychotherapy in my practice. In your first session we will explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. We will explore unconscious mind and past experiences to understand and resolve present day difficulties. I will help you to learn to push back against these thoughts.

Are you looking for effective help to deal with trauma, panic and anxiety? Are you fed up with labels and diagnoses that do nothing to resolve the symptoms and pain that you're suffering with? CPTSD, PTSD, GAD and BPD are labels that define your symptoms, but that don't tackle the cause or do anything useful to relieve them. I specialise in helping people with anxiety and PSTD and have helped many people just like you, who have been struggling, sometimes for decades. I won't dredge up unnecessary past experiences - I only work with what is relevant. Also if you prefer, you won't have to speak in detail about your issue.

I offer counselling to adults and teenagers for various different issues including anxiety, stress, depression, grief and loss, trauma, abuse, panic attacks, OCD, couples counselling etc
Most of my clients come to me knowing they are not happy but they don't always know why. Sometimes it is because of the people and circumstances around them and sometimes it is because they keep repeating the same behaviours that are not producing a happy life for them. My job is to help people understand what it is in their lives that they are not happy with, or want to change and to imagine a life with the new changes in it. I work with the client to provide a safe, comfortable environment for them to explore what is going on for them and how they can make the changes to live a happy, fulfilling life.

Couples Counselling Counsellors
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
