Sometimes you may feel a sense of general dissatisfaction and unhappiness in your life, but you may be unsure where this stems from, and sometimes you may have the understanding but not the motivation or resources to deal with the uncomfortable feelings. In our sessions, we will have the chance to explore whatever is troubling you and help you build on your resources and strengths to confront whatever you are dealing with at the time or in the past. Together, we will identify your patterns of behaviour and relating to others which may be preventing you from realising your true potential and living a fulfilled life.

Common difficulties I work with are depression and anxiety, low self-esteem and trauma. This means you might be struggling to manage stressors in your daily life, often feeling overwhelmed and that life is just too much to cope with. You might be struggling with socialising or managing day to day life tasks or finding it hard to move on from a difficult or traumatic experience, despite it being in the past. My aim as a therapist is to help you develop the skills and tools you need to manage life’s challenges again and to help you feel hopeful about the future.

I am most often consulted by people who have anxiety or depression. Modern life can be stressful and many people seek my help with stress and stress-related health conditions. I am frequently consulted for help with relationship problems. In recent years I have seen an increase in the number of people who are seeking help with alcohol, food and eating disorders. Many people come because their life is not working the way they want it to, and they feel stuck and unable to move forward.

Therapy can be more than just a space to discuss difficulties, it can be a place of learning, healing, playing and growing. It can be a place where you can process the past, so that you're able to move forward into the life that you want to create for yourself.

I offer a safe and confidential space where we can explore whatever is troubling you. By exploring your thoughts and feelings, both past and present, I can help you to better understand yourself and to accept and let go of what has been weighing you down, to allow you to move forward.

Sometimes we lose our way a little in life. Perhaps there are aspects in your life that are causing you anxiety, distress, or preventing you from moving forward? In a world full of uncertainty we can often feel overwhelmed, fearful and unsure where to move next. Redundancy, illness, relationship issues, depression and anxiety can often leave us feeling unsafe and lost, and sometimes we just need a helping hand in working through these emotions and patterns in order to start to make sense of the world and ourselves again.
