Recent work partnering with diverse clients facing anxiety, depression, panic, ADHD, complex trauma, PTSD, BPD, interpersonal challenges, grief, and conduct challenges has fueled my passion for trauma-informed, culturally-adapted, integrative care.
Whether you're a caregiver seeking assistance for your child, or a teen/young adult encountering challenges in their life, everyone deserves a safe and nurturing environment to navigate their journey. In my practice, I'm committed to fostering an inclusive space where individuals can feel empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. I integrate aspects of creativity and the natural world into our sessions to facilitate holistic healing. Through exploration and collaboration, we'll identify strategies to overcome the individual obstacles being faced and promote your growth and well-being.

I take an integrative approach to counselling that draws from cognitive-behavioural, humanistic and solution-focused therapy.
Life is full of surprises, and not all of them are pleasant. Sometimes, these twists and turns throw us off balance and leave us feeling lost. That's where therapy comes in. My goal is to provide you with a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space that is built on trust and transparency and is a place where you can untangle your thoughts, feelings and concerns. I will walk alongside you, providing support as you navigate your journey and reach your goals because I believe that, together, we can turn any challenge into a chance for growth.

I believe in an integrative and adaptive approach to care.
Hello and welcome! I am a neurodivergent therapist who understands the complex task of understanding your own needs. I work from a gentle and curious stance, aware that each person brings with them a unique history, identity and experience that deserves a safe space to unpack and explore. I have a strong interest in the areas of anxiety, neurodiversity (ADHD, autism), attachment and relational trauma, life transitions, stress management, relationship and family challenges, self-esteem, and social justice issues. I understand how challenging and freeing it can be to process your identity, and that it is not always a linear path.

As a therapist, I strive to help individuals thrive in their day to day lives. I have a very wholistic and integrative approach with each of my clients in counselling, drawing on many areas of psychotherapy (e.g., Cognitive, behavioural, humanistic and systemic) to help a client best achieve their goals. This means that with one client, we might choose to focus more on cognitive-behavioural techniques but with another we may focus more on working through past experiences. Therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” method, and so working together to find what works best is key.

My work is grounded in the Humanistic-Existential approach, even though I see myself as an Integrative therapist.
I believe people can grow and live meaningful and healthier lives. Seeing them gain insight over the course of therapy and thrive is my passion. I aim to provide a safe and nonjudgmental setting for all my clients by respecting their values and challenges as unique. Over more than eight years in the field of mental health, I have worked with and been able to assist individuals, couples and families with issues such as anxiety, depression, challenges in career, and relationship conflicts.

I accompany clients from a place of compassion, creativity, warmth, and humour as they move from the wounds of interpersonal, systemic, and intergenerational trauma (e.g., neglect, identity-based violence, childhood or intimate partner violence, premature death) towards fulfilling lives rooted in posttraumatic growth. In addition to working with clients who have experienced trauma and its related effects, I also work with clients who identify as experiencing stress (including anxiety disorders), sadness or depression, persistent guilt and shame, life transitions, grief, and existential questions related to life purpose and identity.

During times of stress our experiences can seem confusing and overwhelming. Having a safe space to express our thoughts out loud helps bring clarity to our experience. Whether you are working through a current stressor or an older wound, identifying your thoughts and feelings helps you understand your unmet needs. I work with clients to identify longstanding automatic attachment patterns that may be maintaining beliefs and reactions that are no longer helpful and that are getting in the way of attaining fulfillment.

Everyone experiences difficulties throughout their lives. Some difficulties manifest themselves suddenly, others quietly and even persist over time. As a result, you've probably tried to overcome and even resolve your difficulties on your own or with the people around you. However, some mental health problems are more difficult to overcome and resolve alone. Therefore, I offer my clients therapeutic support to help them through their process.

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behaviour patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
