Since 2007, Woodleaf has helped clients with anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder recover. We are the longest running eating disorder program in Northern California and our specialty binge eating program has been running over 16 years. Our adult program is intentionally small creating a safe, private environment in which to heal. Our convenient evening hours are designed so professionals and students can keep living their lives while they recover. Insurance often covers program costs and we offer scholarships whenever possible. All of our staff are licensed experts (no interns) and have been working together for years. This stable, seasoned atmosphere accelerates the healing process.

We have a strong emphasis in interpersonal skills, emotion regulation managing and distress tolerance skills, as well as mindfulness, the foundation of what we teach and the cornerstone of our practice. Our unique model of outpatient treatment combined with or without structured sober living environments offers varied levels of containment and support for individualized treatment. We are an inpatient residential alcohol and drug recovery program located in Orange County, CA minutes from the Pacific Ocean. We specialize in offering medication assisted alcohol and drug detoxification and residential inpatient treatment. Inpatient treatment is focused on minimizing detoxification effects while preparing the client for a successful and safe transition to outpatient treatment.

We use virtual reality technology as an evidence-based approach to treat various psychological disorders. One of the main issues treated using VRET is post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). VRET enables individuals with PTSD to confront their fears in a safe and controlled environment, gradually reducing their anxiety levels. Another significant issue treated using VRET is phobias. Phobias are characterized by an excessive and irrational fear of specific objects or situations. By using virtual reality, individuals with phobias can experience real-life scenarios that trigger their fear, helping them overcome their anxiety and develop coping strategies. VRET is also used to treat anxiety disorders, such as social anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). These disorders are characterized by excessive worry, fear, and apprehension. By immersing individuals in a virtual environment that simulates social situations or anxiety-provoking situations, VRET helps desensitize them to the triggers and develops coping strategies for managing anxiety.

At Evolve Treatment Centers, we provide the highest caliber of evidence-based residential treatment for adolescents 12-17 struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, suicidality, aggression, defiance, trauma, and other emotional/behavioral issues. Our primary modes of treatment are Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. At Evolve Walnut Creek, we believe treatment works best when it is individually tailored. Our clinical staff conducts a comprehensive evaluation of each teen pre- and post-admission in order to develop a customized, highly detailed treatment plan that is constantly updated based on treatment progress. Our robust clinical program includes individual and family therapy at least 5 times a week; weekly psychiatry; groups on DBT Skills Training, Anger Management, Relapse Prevention, and Seeking Safety; and daily academic support. (Families from out-of-state participate in family therapy remotely.) Teens also participate in experiential therapies (e.g. equine, music, art, fitness, yoga, hiking, and meditation) as well as 12-Step/SMART Recovery programs for those struggling with dual diagnoses.
