Most students that attend Alpine Academy experience severe anxiety and/or depression. This impedes their ability to function successfully at home, in school, and with friends. Trauma has touched their lives in such a way that many have a hard time getting to the root of the problem and learning to express their overwhelming emotions in a healthy manner. Typically our students are bright and capable in school, but emotional disturbances prevent them from being successful in the classroom and in relationships with peers. Oftentimes this leads to them avoiding school and in-person social interaction, opting instead to immerse themselves in the online world of social media and gaming. Our students tend to implode rather than explode, and self-harm and suicidal thoughts, gestures, and attempts may become ways they have coped with their pain. Generally, Alpine students have a strong desire to be able to return to the hobbies, interests, and activities that they used to enjoy doing.

Evolve Treatment Centers specializes in teens ages 12-17 struggling with dual diagnosis, high-risk/self-harm behaviors, suicidal ideation, and other mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral issues. At Evolve Danville, teens live on-site in a comfortable home for an average of 30-60 days and receive round-the-clock support and treatment. We incorporate multiple evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Teens participate in individual/family therapy, psychiatry sessions, and daily therapy groups such as DBT Skills Training, Seeking Safety, Relapse Prevention, & Anger Management. For families from out-of-state, we offer family therapy via HIPAA-compliant video conference. Each teen receives an individualized recovery plan that is custom-designed to meet their therapeutic needs, encourage personal growth, and lay the foundation for lifelong recovery. To achieve long-term healing from OCD, young adults need treatment that provides relief from obsessions and compulsions, while addressing underlying causes and co-occurring mental health conditions. Without this full-spectrum care, young adults are vulnerable to relapse. Newport Institute’s specialized OCD treatment incorporates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, considered the gold standard of care for OCD. In addition, clients’ treatment plans include psychiatric care, medication management, other evidence-based modalities (such as EMDR and Attachment-Based Family Therapy), experiential activities, and academics/life skills education. OCD is classified as an anxiety disorder, because the symptoms of severe OCD can create extreme anxiety. However, OCD is also linked to other mental health issues. Therefore, Newport Institute provides tailored treatment plans for young adults with obsessive-compulsive disorder that also address common issues that occur alongside OCD, such as generalized anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, body dysmorphia, social anxiety, and panic disorders.

The Anxiety Treatment Center is the first & only treatment program in California and the U.S. that offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Treatment, a Hoarding Disorder Program, Phobia Track, and Equine Assisted Activity Program (EAA) specializing in OCD and anxiety disorders. This includes Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Trichotillomania, and Excoriation Disorder, to name a few.. This facility provides the frontline treatment protocols for these conditions which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). This integrative approach is the only scientifically proven treatment modality shown to produce chemical changes in the brain leading to decreased anxiety and improved functioning. About Anxiety: Anxiety is the result of fear. When we are afraid, our body responds by producing physiological symptoms such as heart palpitations, sweating, trembling or shaking, shortness of breath, dizziness, and chest pain. These symptoms tend to produce a "fight or flight response" causing us to take action so twe can be "safe." Typically ones instinct is to go into a "flight" response, rather than stay and "fight" what is scaring us. Hence, we often times see individuals whose lives have become significantly limited due to avoidance of the situations that are producing the anxiety.
