About The Anxiety Treatment Center
The Anxiety Treatment Center is the first & only treatment program in California and the U.S. that offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Treatment, a Hoarding Disorder Program, Phobia Track, and Equine Assisted Activity Program (EAA) specializing in OCD and anxiety disorders. This includes Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Trichotillomania, and Excoriation Disorder, to name a few.. This facility provides the frontline treatment protocols for these conditions which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). This integrative approach is the only scientifically proven treatment modality shown to produce chemical changes in the brain leading to decreased anxiety and improved functioning. About Anxiety: Anxiety is the result of fear. When we are afraid, our body responds by producing physiological symptoms such as heart palpitations, sweating, trembling or shaking, shortness of breath, dizziness, and chest pain. These symptoms tend to produce a "fight or flight response" causing us to take action so twe can be "safe." Typically ones instinct is to go into a "flight" response, rather than stay and "fight" what is scaring us. Hence, we often times see individuals whose lives have become significantly limited due to avoidance of the situations that are producing the anxiety.
Our Services
At The Anxiety Treatment Center, expert clinicians will help individuals learn how to confront triggers producing the anxiety with techniques that will allow them to become desensitized to them through the exposure process. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will help individuals address negative thinking patterns that contribute to their anxiety and help to restore a healthy and balanced lifestyle which compliments the ERP process. As one might guess, confronting issues related to anxiety can be difficult and as such, our integration of mindfulness-based approaches will help those who engage in the process to find increased ability to tolerate the uncomfortable feelings that may arise. Our full-service clinic offers all levels of treatment to support the needs of those looking for help including individual, group, family, couples counseling, home visits, and treatment in the community, in addition to a social anxiety group, generalized anxiety group, and kids group. We also offer an aftercare/relapse prevention group for those who desire an integrative follow-up plan. For those traveling from out of town, we offer housing which is centrally located within 1/2 mile from the facility and within walking distance to grocery and other retail stores. Services in Spanish available.
