Life is a constant flow of change. The end of one chapter and the beginning of another. With change comes the need to adjust and adapt, but also the need to grieve, to refocus, and to summon courage for what lies ahead. Whether you are struggling to meet the expectations of a new role, coping with the loss of an identity or crutch, or wondering how to navigate a new adventure in life—it makes sense that you may need some support along the way. In your search, the question that you really want answered is, “Will it get better?” I believe it will. In our sessions, I help adults and teens discover how to move through seasons of change.

You're the "go to" woman for everyone in your life. On paper, it looks like you've got it all together, but inside you're on a downward spiral. The stress and anxiety of giving, caring, or catering to others has become so overwhelming that it's effecting your mental, physical, & spiritual health. You may not be sure how to regain control of your own body and mind and if you do, you have no idea (or energy) where to begin. It isn't easy for you to reach out for help, but you know something needs to change. Your life depends on it.

What most of us want in life is to be seen, heard and understood. What we need in times of struggle is curiosity and compassion, not to be left to fend for ourselves. None of us are meant to carry the hard and messy parts alone. My goal is to help my clients to understand themselves, cope with emotions in a healthier way, and to promote a healthier mindset to shift out of thinking patterns that may keep them stuck. Through the safety of the therapeutic relationship, my goal is simple: to help clients come home to themselves.

Book with me now by clicking on my website! I have always used a more integrative approach in order to fit the needs of my clients. At times therapy can be difficult, and it’s my job to help make the experience of introspection, self-discovery, and healing feel as comfortable as possible. I enjoy spending time getting to know you and the important people or things in your life, how you experience joy, and how you manage your troubles. I take a non-judgmental, holistic view of a person to better understand how different aspects of life interact and may contribute to stress.

My clients often identify as feeling "stuck." Stuck doing the same things over and over again, stuck wanting to change but struggling to take action. Stuck in a job or in relationships that feel unfulfilling. I work closely with codependency recovery and learning healthy relationships. I most frequently work with adults (18-35) experiencing life transitions, strained or toxic relationships with parents/significant others/self, low self esteem, anxiety and depression (also shows up as poor digestion + sleep). I work closely with the LGBT+ community and provide a safe and inclusive environment for all to show up exactly as they are.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
