My mission as an IFS-trained therapist is to help you understand and heal the different parts of yourself that may be in conflict or pain. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, I am here to support you. IFS stands for Internal Family Systems. It is a model that views each person as having a system of sub-personalities that have their own thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and motivations. Some of your parts may be wounded by past experiences and carry negative emotions such as anger, fear, shame, or guilt. Other parts may try to protect you from those emotions by avoiding, pleasing, or numbing.

Pursuit of Happiness provides counseling for pregnant women, children, and families with Traditional Medicaid Insurance. We offer in-home and telehealth counseling throughout Texas. All of our counselors practice trauma-informed counseling and have training in play and trauma techniques to help children and families heal and grow in a safe therapeutic space. Our counselors will come directly to you and meet with the you or your children in the home, school, or daycare depending on your schedule needs. Virtual counseling is also available.

Our group practice centralizes care for People of Color, Queer, Transgender, Nonbinary, Neurodivergent, and Disabled communities. We are BIPOC & QT2S+ led. As integrative, holistic healers, we help you work through life adjustments, anxiety, depression, and trauma. The cornerstone of my practice is the belief that actual connection with a real human being will go further than any single psychological theory. My degree is in clinical psychology with an emphasis in applied existentialism, which really just means applied humanity. I am a pragmatist and find mental and emotional health is contingent on meeting everyone where they are, rather than where anyone thinks they "should" be. I take pride in my honesty, compassion, and faith in humanity's ability to overcome. I truly love helping people through hard times, and look forward to helping you however I can.

We try to live lives that make sense and matter to us, but life changes can make you question who you are, what your life is about, your expectations for the future, and your relationships. I provide individual and couples therapy focusing on grief, illness, trauma, employment change, becoming a parent, relationship struggles, and other challenging life events and transitions. I will work with you to support your well-being as we find meaningful ways to move through these struggles. You can expect our work together to be active and reflective.

You will gain clarity and experience a more peaceful way of moving through life, no matter what has kept you stuck for a month, a year, or for decades.

I work from the belief that the human body and mind work together and constantly strive to find an inner peace and balance through self-healing. My role as a counselor is to help you create self-awareness, to facilitate the healing process, and to support you on your journey to finding your inner peace and life satisfaction. I enjoy working with adults, couples, and adolescents, addressing a wide range of challenges.
