I encourage you to try something you may not have tried before: EMDR treatment. Clients on my caseload are frequently referred to me because of their need for a different type of therapy... something in addition to talk therapy with great scientific success rates. That's where EMDR comes in. It’s most renowned for addressing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, however, its applications extend to many other mental concerns as well.

Welcome!!! Finding a therapist can be challenging and we thank you for your consideration. Mandy at Upward You Counseling treats those ages 15+. She specializes in working with those who are struggling with social skills challenges, OCD, anxieties, life transitions, ADHD, communication, etc. She utilizes Animal Assisted Therapy when in the office setting and will have a dog at her office to offer support and participate in the interventions if applicable to treatment. Mandy believes counseling shouldn’t be a dreaded process and when working together as a team obstacles can be overcome.

Dr. Artico has over 20 years of experience helping couples, adults and teens become who they were meant to be. She is the director of Gainesville Family Counseling, has taught at George Mason University, and is the author of the book Latino Families Broken by Immigration. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFT), clinical supervision, and sandtray therapy.

Passion and empathy combine to allow me to help many incredible people affirm their strengths and overcome obstacles. Developing a genuine rapport with the clients served is also essential to their success. A firm believer that we are all capable of amazing feats, I feel strongly that, at times, we just need help to gain clarity.
