Hello, my name is Evelyn Lieb and I graduated with a Masters in Clinical and Mental Health as well as a Masters in Legal and Forensic Psychology from Marymount University in 2021. I am currently a Resident in Counseling at SafeHarbor in Virginia. Having worked as an educator with children ages 0-21 for the last 10+ years, I am now looking forward to continuing working with children in the capacity of a counselor. Furthermore, I have experience in working with children and adults with disabilities and I am fluent in German.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP) in the state of Virginia. In 2017 I graduated from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia with two master’s degrees in Forensic Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I completed my Practicum at a non-profit serving individuals with dual diagnosis mental health and substance abuse disorders. I later completed my two semester internship at Counseling and Forensic Services, Inc – Where I am currently working as a Therapist.

Dr. Jones is licensed in MD, DC, & VA accepting new patients for ASSESSMENTs. She has several years of clinical experience working with individuals of diverse age range referred for various psychological/psychiatric or forensic/legal concerns. She adopts biopsychosocial framework with the goal of promoting well-being and useful evaluations. Her experiences includes, but are not limited to Veterans Disability Benefit Questionnaires, Mood and Anxiety disorders, Sexual Trauma, Serious Mental Illnesses, Competency to Stand Trial, Juvenile Psychosexual Risk, intellectual and learning disabilities, and other psychological evaluations.

I enjoy working with clients to address various challenges including anxiety, infidelity, communication issues in relationships, boundaries, work issues, anger management, and other challenges. In my more than 20 years of practice, I have found that I especially love working with individuals with sexual behavior issues and couples at any stage of their relationship. I also enjoy doing Christian counseling with individuals and couples who are seeking it to overcome the challenges they are facing. While I primarily work with adults, I have also worked with teens.

Understanding the causes of anxiety, depression, and other types of psychological suffering by increasing self-awareness is the key to navigating life's challenges. With years of experience in clinical practice and academia, I've had the privilege of assisting individuals from various walks of life in navigating their psychological challenges. My approach to therapy is based on empathic attunement, fostering self-awareness, and empirically supported approaches tailored to the needs of each person. I am committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings openly.

Sometimes even the strongest people need help to work through life’s more challenging problems. I offer psychotherapy to children, teens, adults, couples, and families, using a variety of modalities such as psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, play therapy, and family systems approaches. Working collaboratively, I tailor therapy to successfully address the client’s individual needs and goals. I also offer consultation with interested colleagues on issues involved in diagnosis and therapy, working with allied professionals, and encounters with the legal system.

For the past 26 years (since 1996) I have been in private practice. Through the years, the focus has been forensics and traumas from early childhood to veterans' issues. The therapeutic approach I've maintained is a blend of psychology, creative arts and spirituality. All our creativity is merely an apprenticeship for the larger art: our lives. When given the opportunity to experience the visions, dreams and pain we enter the sacred. We are involved with forces whose energies are greater than our own.
