I am relationally-focused and work with individuals, couples and families.

My practice is primarily family therapy where multiple family members participate. The majority of the families I work with have at least one, if not many, of the following diagnoses: AD/HD, oppositional defiant disorder, selective mutism, learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, pragmatic communication, etc), social communication disorder, autism, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and/or bipolar disorder. I actively use Accelerated Resolution Therapy(ART) to help people gain relief from trauma and persistent unwanted thoughts. I also offer comprehensive reports for social security applications.

I understand that life is full of challenges and when those challenges directly affect you as an individual or your family it can feel overwhelming. In therapy we can address those feelings individually or as a family. Everyone is different in how they express and handle their feelings. I strongly believe therapy is here to help you figure out what works for you, your family or your children.

I have 9 years of experience working with clients (Couples, Individuals & Families) dealing with a variety of issues, from all different cultural, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. As an Individual, Couples and Family Therapist, I utilize evidence-based theories to assist in the journey of healing. Past traumatic experiences often leave an imprint on the mind/body in such a way that present-day stressors can easily trigger a recurrent emotional/physical stress response. Each environmental trigger validates an automatic physical stress response because the central nervous system is pre-set/pre-wired to be ON ALERT. Stress can be cumulative and create illness or a disease process over time (i.e., fibromyalgia, CFIDS, autoimmune response, etc.).

My dedication to the field of mental health stems from my personal experience with it. I grew up with parents and family members living with mental illness and I have personally overcome some mental health challenges over the course of my lifetime, too. I know firsthand that having mental health concerns can be difficult. I would describe my style as friendly and supportive, but I am also prepared to receive and assist you in overcoming your struggles from the get-go. We can work together at prioritizing, setting goals, and achieving them, at your pace!

I strive to help clients find transformative growth through different therapy modalities including EMDR, sandtray, play and attachment therapy. I acknowledge the strength and courage it takes to begin the path of therapy. Life situations can often burden us leaving us feeling overwhelmed and hopeless which can contribute to increased anxiety and disturbance in sleeping patterns. My specialty revolves around individual and family systems therapy which includes a unique approach to couples therapy (marriage counseling), life transitions, children, adolesecents and family of origin issues. Through my continuing post graduate training I have developed a behavioral, relational, and psychdynamic psychotheraputic approach to assist in allivating these patterns by enhancing communication styles, negotiating skills and problem solving techniques.

While the focus is often on current issues, understanding the influence of past experiences and relationships is an important part of the process. I motivate, encourage and support my clients to make choices that improve their lives, relationships and overall well being.

Someone once asked me, "Ashley, what is the number one thing that brings people to counseling?" I laughed and answered, "PEOPLE. People bring people to therapy!" We've all heard that adage: "People go to therapy for the people in their life that WON’T go to therapy”, and it's funny because it's absolutely true! As a professional counselor, I have never met someone who didn't have a story. Everyone has PEOPLE! Everyone has family struggles and relationship issues. Everyone has trouble processing emotions when they feel overwhelmed. Everyone needs someone to confide in and feel safe with, and that's what therapy can be for you.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I believe in addressing a client's immediate concern, their current functioning, and their identified goals. I use a variety of treatment modalities and select those that best serve the needs of my clients. I do not believe in meeting with clients indefinitely. My hope is to help clients reach their goals and get to the point where they no longer need therapy. I believe in teaching my clients the specific skills they need to address their problem or concern.

Hi, Making the first move for help is always the most difficult. A little about myself, I have lived and learned multiculturalism from my stay in various cities and abroad. From my experiences combined with my training and education has helped me become very effective when helping those in need of intervention. I specialize in problems with children, adolescents, adults, marraige, relationships, and family problems, depression, dissociative, and behavioral disorders.

My diverse therapy skill sets allow me to work with almost any client presenting with a variety of interpersonal, occupational, and academic concerns. I am able to assist clients dealing with stage of life changes, self-harm behaviors, sexuality and gender concerns (LGBTQI+ Ally), relationship problems, mood disorders, sex addictions, women's issues, men's issues, spirituality concerns, and substance abuse concerns. I have been trained and certified as a Gottman Method Level 2 couples therapist and I am currently providing therapeutic services to include individual therapy, family therapy, couples, premarital and marital therapy.
