I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I believe in addressing a client's immediate concern, their current functioning, and their identified goals. I use a variety of treatment modalities and select those that best serve the needs of my clients. I do not believe in meeting with clients indefinitely. My hope is to help clients reach their goals and get to the point where they no longer need therapy. I believe in teaching my clients the specific skills they need to address their problem or concern.
Although I work with individuals, I have a family-orientation. I am interested in a person's relationships with their families. I believe in helping clients establish and strengthen their social support network. Therefore, I focus heavily on improving communication and strengthening personal boundaries.
I strongly believe in being sensitive to and respecting a person's worldview with regard to their religious persuasion or lack thereof. However, I have been trained as a Christian minister and enjoy including spirituality in a client's treatment plan when they request this.
