I enjoy being part of this client-centered process. I use a blend of cognitive-behavioral and insight-oriented strategies to help clients reach goals they set for themselves. I use evidence-based practices when appropriate. Above all, I strive to help clients feel understood and heard.

As a therapist, I offer counseling services for children, teens, and adults. I also accept private pay and sliding scale payments for in-person sessions. As a parent, if you're struggling to connect with your child, feel lost, or notice that you and your children are drifting apart due to unresolved trauma, anxiety, or family issues, I'm here to help. My expertise lies in assisting toddlers with behavior issues, school-aged children, adolescents, and adults facing various life challenges. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Indiana and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky. I specialize in couples' work and sexuality, and also have extensive experience with families, at-risk youth, depression, ADHD and trauma. Clinical style is client-centered, solution-focused and reality based, with a certain dose of humor. I also offer EMDR therapy. Straight and LGBTQ communities are welcome. Fee ranges from $80-100, with limited sliding scale fee available for some circumstances. Most insurance plans accepted.

While I specialize in parenting techniques for young children, I also enjoy working with children, teens, and adults who feel "stuck," or are having difficulty managing family and social conflicts. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a powerful agent of change, and aim to provide a warm, safe, and casual space for clients to express themselves. I work particularly well with teenage and young adult females. I also encourage creative outlets for processing emotional issues, which might include drawing, painting or any other evidenced-based expressive techniques that relieve distress.

Kimberly desires to journey alongside individuals, children, and families to feel heard, understood, and utilize their strengths to experience empowerment, positive changes, and connection. Using play therapy, Theraplay informed practice, CBT, & expressive activities, Kimberly helps a person process experiences that can be overwhelming at times and provides parent support to find helpful and meaningful ways to approach difficulties and life. Kimberly also assists others in exploring their faith and the manner in which spirituality affects their daily life. By examining all areas of life, Kimberly strives to help others reach growth.

While traditional talk therapy can be helpful for some, it is not for all. Art and other expressive therapies can be utilized as a tool to help people of all ages express, process and communicate their social and emotional needs when words aren’t enough. I enjoy working with children ages 3+ and have specialized in helping others regulate emotions, decrease and cope with stress, anxiety and depression; increase self-esteem, social skills and mood; and process traumatic events.

I work best with folks who are seeking practical effective solutions to their personal, family or relationships problems and who would like to see results as quickly as possible. They are open to learning new ways of thinking about their problems and are receptive to new approaches. You can generally count on leaving your first session confident that I understand the problems you have presented and have clear formulations and concrete solutions to offer. Half of my cases are closed in under six sessions, most with good and lasting results.

Jennifer Hassell-Goodson treats ages 0 "“ 17 years old. Jennifer Hassell-Goodson is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 10 years of experience. She has received her master's degree and bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Southern Indiana. She has experience working in the community, in schools, and in an outpatient clinic setting. She works with young children, and adolescents providing individual, family and group therapy services treating behavioral problems, ADHD, trauma, depression, anxiety, and parent-child relational problems.

I like to work with children, adolescents, and adults using the creative process to support and encourage young people to understand themselves, their issues, and the world. We all have problems in life, and mental health-related concerns are some that need our attention daily. Children experience the same problems that we as adults do. However, they may look and feel different due to their development and emotional strength. Each family may have different goals and needs; understanding and focusing on each child and patient and their needs is important, and having verbal and non-verbal ways to do so can be what is needed.
