Life is complex and relationships are important. I believe the therapeutic relationship between a client and therapist is essential for helping a client reach his or her goals. This relationship based on trust, respect, and careful listening is the foundation for exploring clients' concerns, learning new skills, and gaining new perspectives. I enjoy being part of this client-centered process. I use a blend of cognitive-behavioral and insight-oriented strategies to help clients reach goals they set for themselves. I use evidence-based practices when appropriate. Above all, I strive to help clients feel understood and heard.
I work with adults, teens, children, and toddler/preschooler-parent pairs. I work with a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, oppositional/defiant, and attachment. When a child is the client, I have found that involving caregiver(s) and other adults important to the child is most effective.
I work hard to see clients within 1-week of initial contact. I have training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (for behavior problems in 2-7 year olds) and Trauma-Focused: Cognitive Behavioral Thearpy (for Posttraumatic stress).
