Thank you for taking the first step towards healing by seeking a counselor. I am here to listen and be supportive on your journey, while not being judgmental. of your journey. Hopefully while working together, you are not only able to find healing, but also start to take steps back into God's purpose for you. We have a Greater Purpose in life than our current situation. Just like the seasons changed the leaves on a tree, our situations in life changes. I understand the importance of living a Biblical life in our current society. Sometimes we need a safe space to be human and apply our faith without fear while healing.

Have you been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, depressed or like your life seems to be really hard right now? Maybe you have been feeling disconnected in your relationship due to having the same arguments, the same issues, or feeling like roommates, and you just don't know how to make it better. Or, maybe you have recently gone through a divorce or breakup and you just don't know how to pick up the pieces and get your life back. Or, maybe you are just tired of always putting yourself last and have lost who you are and what you want out of life. You really just want to experience some peace, clarity, and to get your life back.

Life didn’t used to feel so difficult. Work, life, and love were never this hard before. But now? Now, you're lucky if you make it through the day without feeling totally overwhelmed or zoning out in front of the TV once you get home. Actually, you used to really enjoy your life, even on the tough days. But now, it's like the only thing you want to do is hide—better yet, stay home and sleep. You're desperate to get back to a place where you don't dread the day, where you can actually enjoy your work, life, and relationships again. Those days feel pretty far away sometimes—but you haven't given up hope (yet).

There is no such thing as an ideal client. That is too boring. The way I do therapy is relaxed. I am not your average therapist, and I am not going to be like, "How does that make you feel?" but I am going to say, "What up! How are we doing today?" I never stop learning, and when you have me as a therapist, you will see that you will fall back in love with learning. Overall, I am just honored you allowed me to help you! Also, the best way to reach me is to Email over calling due to normally being in session, and I want to respond to you as quickly as possible!

There are many reasons people seek out counseling, but the underlying reasons are that we are looking for change, meaning, or healing. Whatever your individual needs may be, I commend you for taking the first steps in addressing your situation head-on. Each client is unique, and therefore, there is no one right approach that may work best for everyone. Because of this, I use a trauma-informed integrative style to give you, the client, space to be yourself in an empathic and non-judgmental environment.

When anxiety and depression get the final word, we end up missing out on the life we truly desire to live. We all want to care for the people we love, experience success, and feel peace, but even our deepest values seem impossible to live out when we feel like we can't enjoy the present moment. Therapy offers the support we need to focus on what matters to us, even during painful or unexpected seasons. Pulling from acceptance and commitment (ACT), cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and client-centered approaches, I journey with clients as they process their stories and offer practical tools needed to experience relief and authenticity.

I feel disconnected and alone. I don't have anyone around that really understands my problem. I don't want to burden my friends and family with my concerns. I'm worried someone will judge me if I tell them the truth. Have you had some of these thoughts? Fear of being judged or burdensome keeps a lot of people from finding the help they want.

Do you feel that mental health providers ignore your spiritual health when treating your depression, anxiety, marital problems, PTSD, or other mental health issues? Is Christianity a significant part of who you are and do you feel unable to bring that up during counseling sessions? Do you feel like your mental health provider views your reliance on Christianity as unhelpful or possibly even a hindrance to successful treatment of your mental health issues? Do you avoid bringing up your Christian beliefs during healthcare assessments because of fear that the provider may look negatively on you? Most Americans will answer yes.

I strive to join with my client where they are, hear their story or process of thinking, and then offer support while they embrace their current struggle or situation. Then I help empower them to find answers from their own strengths that align with their beliefs and existing skills. I teach and help clients practice new skills when needed. My focus throughout our work together is to assure my client they are not alone in their struggle and they can heal and feel whole once again.

You are worthy of peace and joy! If you are tired of feeling stuck, anxious, distracted, overwhelmed or detached from yourself and thinking of all the things you should be doing or unsure where to start....stop "should-ing" on yourself! Depression, grief, anger and anxiety are normal human emotions. However, with most things in life, it’s all about balance and moderation. Sometimes things from the past, fears of the future's uncertainty or the way we are wired creates patterns that interfere with living a more meaningful, joyful, and peaceful life- one that includes connecting with the healing powers already within you!

How can I find a therapist in Indiana?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
