I am Charles Cobble a licensed clinical social worker offering therapy services that are tailored to the individual needs of each client. I am a proud Army Veteran, who served as a mental health provider to over 1500 soldiers in Kuwait. I have worked extensively in the Veteran and LGBTQ+ community. I am passionate about improving mental health. I work with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief or any other issue. We will work together to find the best therapeutic approach for you and help you develop the skills and mindset to find relief and the courage to make changes in your life.

I believe that WE are in charge of the story we tell ourselves about the world around us...we get to decide. I use an eclectic, integrative approach to personalize therapy to fit your needs. I aim to balance encouragement & support with effective therapy; working to help you remove the wreckage standing in your way. Life is tough enough & sometimes we need someone to help us regain our strength & confidence, and help us get back on track.

I work with individuals and couples around helping change old maladaptive patterns and living in new places of growth. I believe that we have the capacity to break the cycle and live out of our authentic self but we sometimes get stuck. We long to be fully seen and known. The challenge comes in allowing ourselves to be known. My main specialty is are around trauma particularly Complex PTSD and from that anxiety, depression and addiction arises. I have received extensive specialized training in treating trauma and believe learning to sit with ourself is the greatest and most rewarding task in our life.

We are all on a challenging journey with COVID-19 + Traumas. Many clients seek short term relevant therapy for anxiety, career, life issues with loss of direction, sadness, & grief/loss. Others come with issue childhood, divorce, worries for their children. Spec goals to learn biofeedback, hypnosis, CBT+ ways to mgn stress, with Energy Psychology (Diplomat ACEP) yearly travels Guatemala with Rotary to serve/treat many orphans + families who suffer from multi-traumas + teaches in 3 Psy grad programs + provide exciting seminars internationally on cutting edge Tx for most relevant use of mindfulness, navigational skills for YOUR life.

I have over 50 years experience in mental health and substance abuse counseling. I am certified in distance counseling and TN law now requires insurance coverage. I work with anxiety disorders, including panic attacks, PTSD, and phobias; depression and bipolar disorders; all kinds of substance abuse disorders; parenting problems; marital problems and couples counseling, including LGBT issues. I am retired from the U.S. Army, and am familiar with the problems of being in both military and law enforcement professions.

My clients struggle with life just like you. They want more in life and have struggled to find fullness and meaning. They are hurting from wounds from the past, difficulties in present-day relationships, and wrestle with self-identity. Just like you, they have tried everything they can think of to help themselves, perhaps even trying therapy or counseling before. Restoration Counseling Center was founded by three Christian Counselors in Franklin, Tennessee, who share a vision for providing healing, grace, and professionalism to those experiencing brokenness in their relationship with self, others, and God. It is not uncommon for people to come to therapy and say, “I just feel lost.” You may wonder where the meaning has gone. Life is confusing. To begin, Distance Counseling is offered for clients who cannot make face to face sessions. I believe barriers seldom produce opportunities for change. On another note, I am usually asked, what person is best suited or needs counseling? Honestly, there are many ways and templates (Word document and Google Search) geared to answer this question. Those methods sound enticing. Yet, they operate from the focus of a proprietor. Another clinician may indicate the best suited clients are willing and committed. I don't need the BEST SUITED CLIENT, just those who ask for help. Let's Work Together.

I began working in the field over 20 years ago, in university counseling centers across the South. Now in private practice, I see adolescents-middle age adults. I strive to join my clients at the point in their process where old patterns are no longer working and collaborate with them to find new ones. I like to set goals together that provide a roadmap for the course of our work, and I challenge my clients to work on things not only in session, but also in their everyday lives. I view therapy as a temporary stop along life’s path; a realignment that sends my clients back out there as healthier and happier versions of themselves.
