I have worked with children & families for over 20 years. Some of the areas I worked were in-home services, therapeutics foster care, crisis nursery, adoption, hospital setting & outpatient psychotherapy in the local mental health facility. I really enjoy helping my clients & I like to see them progress through the issues & symptoms they start off with. I see adults too for life issues, anxiety & loss but I specialize with children. I use play therapy to help client find fun while they are working on hard issues & building skills. I love to think outside the box & help clients move forward.

People often wonder "how do I move on" or "how do I let go". Here we offer help moving through the journey to freedom. The Starting Place is a Christ-centered agency. Giving you a voice when you can't find the words is my goal as a therapist. I enjoy working with my patients to find the right form of treatment catered to their needs, but my passion is working with children, adolescents, and individuals. Often in life we can find ourself in a place of distress, darkness, chaos and feel like there is nobody that understands or cares. Sometimes you are the parent of the child that is always kicked out of school, or you painfully watch your child go through something you know is just so upsetting but you are not able to help. Maybe you are told you are just not enough so much that you have started to believe it. I am a prescriptive therapist with a vast array of skills and training ready to set some goals and work to help you make change happen.

Two things I know about people who walk through our doors is 1) they are brave, and 2) they are strong enough to see when something needs growth or improvement- whether that be in their home, family, work atmosphere, or within their own internal dynamics- and to seek out resources to help them reach their goals. Our clients tend to be well-educated, high functioning individuals who have recognized their own levels of reactivity to various situations or relationships and desire to attend to the factors contributing to that. This includes addressing various types of interpersonal trauma and stress stored in the nervous system.
