About

The treatment of complex histories of trauma, eating disorders, and attachment disruptions must include interventions that rewire the brain from the bottom up, somatic movement to reintegrate the body with the brain, and a felt sense of safety, in the context of relationship. This provides lasting change for improved regulation, mood, energy, the ability to be present and attune to others. Too many therapies focus on decision making, problem solving, or changing your thoughts. This is not how we are wired to work. It leads to disappointment. My evidenced based interventions promise to be different.
I specialize with certifications and extensive training in EMDR, equine assisted psychotherapy, child-parent psychotherapy, trauma conscious yoga, and eating disorders. The team at Connections also includes a dually certified child and adult psychiatrist, registered dietician, and perinatal mental health specialist as well.
You are looking for hope. You may not be sure about the idea of horses or yoga, or family therapy. You are met where you are, and you are a partner in decisions every step of the way. Combining my own history of complex trauma, 25+ years of formal learning and experience, and the team we have built at Connections, we will help you make the changes you seek.

Britt Palmer's Groups

SomeBody to Love (body image group)

This is a body image support group primarily for those who have struggled with disordered eating or body dysmorphia. We incorporate writing, movement and connection to our body, nutrition counseling, and equine assisted psychotherapy.

More about this group

Connections (Brene' Brown Curriculum)

This group combines Brene' Brown's shame resilience curriculum with the experiential component of equine assisted psychotherapy. People learn about connection and how shame often gets in the way of connecting.

More about this group

Not Alone (teen and children's groups)

This is a group created for kids to help them feel less alone in their struggles. Most group members are struggling with things such as depression, anxiety, surviving trauma, sexual identity, family problems, and school stress. Groups are formed based on age and we conduct experiential therapy, processing, and psychoeducation. Parent group is also offered to the parents of the group members. (groups are typically school age, middle school, and high school sections).
