As a therapist, I strive to create an environment that affirms who you are as a person. So much of a positive human experience involves being heard and validated by others, especially in our own homes. I will work with you and your loved ones to learn healthy communication skills to improve your relationships, increase acceptance and understanding in the home, and learn to manage conflict in a healthy manner.

My mission is to empower clients with knowledge about themselves and their strengths. Furthermore, I will work clients to help them identify their truth as it relates to their lives. I seek to help clients pull from within themselves the strength needed to persevere and overcome daily life obstacles and struggles. I hope to have clients find their own strength to work through their issues. I aspire for clients to celebrate the small wins and use that to push them to greater gains.

I would like to start off by saying it takes courage to take the first step in your healing journey! I specialize in treating trauma, attachment-based issues, and couples. I take a whole-body approach that helps create and maintain lasting change. My ultimate goal for therapy with my clients is to help create corrective emotional experiences so that healing can occur. Whether that’s on an individual basis, or with a couple and the relational cycle. I truly believe it is an honor to walk alongside my clients throughout the healing process!

I am a holistic integrative wellness practitioner. I specialize in helping clients struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I particularly love helping those individuals who may be struggling with low self-esteem and self-worth. I enjoy guiding my clients to identify their own strengths and unlock the hidden potential that each of us possesses. I love working with individuals who are ready for change but are in need of some extrinsic motivation and guidance. For those parents who are looking for assistance for their children, I have extensive experience working with all ages, ranging from 4 to 18 years old.

Progress is made in the struggle; if we’re not struggling, we’re stagnant. People are inherently resilient and resourceful, but sometimes we bump up against something that leaves us feeling stuck or disconnected. I also enjoy working with teens who are at the experimental stages of Alcohol and Drug issues. I have a Family Therapy background and Outpatient Mental Health, as well as over 15 years of providing EAP Counseling services, which is more Brief/Solution Focus Therapy. The decision to come to therapy can be an intimidating one. You know your experiences and how they impacted you, but what’s next? I am accepting new supervisees for licensure in MS & TN, in addition to any EMDR trained therapist needing consultation or working towards certification. I believe in a tailored approach to meet clients where they are and work together to develop a road map for his or her journey through change. I specialize in using a combination of EMDR with mindfulness, Ego State Therapy, CBT/DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Expressive Art Therapy to assist clients in the healing process. I have experience working with dual-diagnosis population in both individual and group settings.

My practice is Blackcentric, meaning it is a safe space for those from the African Diaspora. I work with high functioning black women with anxiety and depression. I also work with clients from a spectrum of cultures while utilizing a blackcentric orientation rooted in the family, that addresses race, gender, class and socio-political orientations.
