Therapy is not just about talking; I incorporate experiential techniques such as brainspotting to promote mind/body wholeness.
Feeling lost, empty, overwhelmed, or a sense that something is wrong with you? Does it seem like you’re always stuck between feeling like ‘too much’ or ‘not enough?’ Maybe you’ve never truly felt seen, or you push others away before they can see the real you. To be authentically heard, understood, and accepted are fundamental human needs. Whether you’re seeking therapy to heal wounds, navigate relationships, break patterns of self-sabotage, or to explore your identity, I am honored to be a part of your journey.

I draw from neurobiologically informed therapies and offer a variety of Cognitive, Somatic, and Energy Psychology interventions, such as: Brainspotting, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, EFT, IFS and TRE.
As a Trauma Specialist I honor the differences between Counseling, Therapy, and Trauma Processing. I work well with people who are trying to break free from cycles of dysfunctional family patterns, people trying to do better than their parents did, people who are the product of an affair (NPEs), people who've had spiritually transformative experiences (NDE, OBE, etc), people experiencing Post Traumatic Stress, people who've suffered medical gaslighting and iatrogenic injury (especially vaccine injured people) and people who generally think outside the box. Seeing the world beyond the lens of convention is my specialty.

Hi, I’m DeAnn, and I would be honored to support you on your path to healing. I provide a nurturing space to collaboratively explore and move through challenges while cultivating heart-centered coping skills. Amid the noise of our often confusing, pressured, and disconnected world, I aim to help you remember who you are at your core, enhancing your creativity and authentic “voice.” I believe in the power of slowing down and being listened to by someone who can help you uncover calm and creativity within. Our work would involve honoring your past and navigating the road ahead while grounding in the present.

I prefer holistic (whole-person), client centered approaches in order to help clients effectively identify problem areas and create steps to resolve issues and I frequently pull from the Gottman method and from Brainspotting.
I love helping clients make sense of their hidden stories and experiences. Often, these create chaos, make us unsure, and throw us off balance. I believe that everyone needs a comfortable place to rediscover balance and wholeness through unraveling their stories. While I see a variety of clients, I love pre-marital therapy, married couples struggling with intimacy, as well as singles and women who have experienced sexual trauma. I also have experience with Homeschool culture and the struggles and wins of the music industry. I offer flexible office hours including Saturdays.

Using Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, IFS, emotionally-focused & other creative approaches, we can explore practical tools that promote resilience, emotional regulation and healing so the life you want can be within your reach.
Sometimes life's challenges can overwhelm us and exceed our capacity to work through them on our own. My practice is focused on providing a safe, non-judgmental environment to help those who need support moving past difficult life events and trauma experiences. I use a culturally sensitive lens and practice from a strengths based perspective to support those who have difficulty accessing their emotional self, are neurodivergent and who have experienced stressful or painful situations that involve spirituality or faith.

I utilize modalities such as EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, SE, and DBT.
I operate from the perspective that therapy is not about changing ourselves. Rather, therapy is simply creating space for the seemingly dark, fearful, and shameful parts within us. These parts want to be seen and accepted, just as we all do. In sessions, I encourage my client to allow their body and inner wisdom to drive the progression of the therapeutic process. I believe that healing occurs as we gently move towards non-resistance and self-acceptance. This process catalyzes the body’s innate ability to transform emotions, the conscious, and the subconscious mind.

I take an integrative approach that includes talk, attachment, trauma-focused approaches (EMDR, Brainspotting), body-based (Somatic Experiencing) and expressive arts therapies (drama therapy), parts work (narrative, Gestalt), CBT, solution-focused, buddhist psychology, and more.
I help you create more of the life you want, one that feels better and is more personally satisfying. I work with trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, boundaries, narcissistic wounding, somatic issues, & other obstacles that keep you from thriving. Clients often reach out to me because they're feeling anxious, panicky, isolated, frustrated in relationships, stuck in perfectionism or people-pleasing, sad, unlike their usual selves, or desire for a deeper level of healing. If you want a collaborator to help you find your own unique way and provide practical strategies with a deep healing approach, I may be your person.

The healing journey looks different for everyone, so I pull from a variety of modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, Brainspotting, and somatics.
I am passionate about supporting people in their healing journey. Through life’s challenges and circumstances, we adapt and develop strategies that help us cope and meet our needs. These protective strategies make sense and are successful until they no longer support us in a way that is helpful. Pain and trauma may continue to keep us stuck in patterns or limit us to certain roles that are not a true reflection of all of who we are.

I am fully trained in EMDR and Brainspotting I and II, in order to further treat complex trauma.
My approach as a therapist is to first reduce any distress that is showing up in the present in order to provide a more immediate sense of relief before walking alongside you to the places of pain in the past. Once we are able to step into past pain, we can work together to rewrite any false narratives and process through your individual experiences in order to create lasting healing. I have experience working with teenagers as young as 15, to adults in their late 70s. My specialties include working with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, chronic health issues and I have experience working with those who have a TBI.

At times, I also utilize Psychodrama, Experiential Therapy, & Brainspotting.
Does your relationship feel stuck? I have been there myself. Feeling stuck and disconnected from your partner can be a lonely and isolating experience. It is easy to lose a sense of hope when you are repeating the very cycles driving disconnection in the relationship. I would like to help you heal and reconnect.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
